Some died from The Black Hood. Some from The Gargoyle King. Some from The Farm. Even those who survived the practices of The Farm still came out of it with a kidney gone. Gangs filled the streets, almost all of them named after snakes as if to just brag about their toxicity. Green and sugar-like substances filled the black market til half the town was addicted.
Traditions had long been abandoned in favor of congressional, political bullshit. Some families still thrived, sure. The Blossoms still produced their arrays of maple syrups and jams. While Andrews Construction was mostly dead, its ex-employees were still able to find work as builders and carpenters. The Lodges continued on with their sketchy legal agreements and corruption. But... The rest of the town suffered.

Jughead sat in the old bunker, trying to come up with ideas for his new bestseller. This damned book felt like a mystery he was so close to solving but, no matter how hard he thought or brainstormed... Nothing.
Tabitha sat on the bed, just ranting about the latest crimes to take place outside of Pop's. Jughead sighed, causing her to pause in her rambling. "Is everything alright?" she asked him, turning her attention back to the stressed man. "Yeah, just..." he gave a tense exhale and ran a hand through his hair. "I'm having really bad writer's block and the publishers have been on my ass constantly. Plus, the debt collectors-"
"Hey" Tabitha gently cut him off, coming up behind him and pulling him into a sort of hug, soothing his growing anxiety. "You'll figure it out, don't worry" She gently stroked his hair as he finally leaned back and shut his laptop. "I think I need a break" he admitted. Tabitha nodded. "Okay" she said. "Wanna go to the diner?"
"Yes" Jughead smiled. "I'd like that"
