Fandom : Frozen
Pairing : Elsa & Honeymaren
Required words : metamorphosis, rogue, shrug, salamander, sleepy, chimpanzee, enzyme, lemon, glance, mergeElsa really found a life for herself out and away from Arendelle.
It was really refreshing to not have all those bad memories popping up every time she entered her room. It was as though she had gone through a metamorphosis out there, and she loved it. Anna had even suggested they merge the political powers of both communities for financial reasons, but she shut that down.
No more pressure to lead the people. No more fancy, rich dickheads from other kingdoms coming through with their expensive clothing and exotic pets (a chimpanzee once nearly ripped a butler's face off!) asking for trade deals. Now it was just her, a fire breathing salamander, her new people, and the faint smell of lemons and dirt blowing in the breeze.

She stayed up late most nights (she was never particularly sleepy due to chronic insomnia) talking with Honeymaren. She ended up telling basically her entire life story to that woman. How the fear of hurting others constantly bit through her like an enzyme. How she had gone rogue and abandoned her kingdom to live in an ice castle all by herself.
"You're so isolated" Honeymaren observed softly. Elsa shrugged. "I'm working on it, but I also just work better on my own" Honeymaren frowned at this and then glanced around to make sure that no one was listening into their conversation.
"Elsa, I need to be honest with you real quick" she sat down next to the elemental on a nearby log. "You've told me so much about yourself and we've been hanging out together so much" she started, avoiding the other woman's gaze. "I've started growing rather... Fond of you"
"Oh" Elsa responded, her eyes widening. "It's okay if you don't feel the same!" Honeymaren was quick to reassure. Elsa sighed. "Honeymaren, you're great" she said. "And I really like you too. Just not in that way..." she looked at the ground. "I don't feel that for people, I'm sorry. But I'm sure one day you'll find a beautiful woman- Or whoever- Who does"
"You really think so?"
"Yes" Elsa smiled. "I do"
