The Crimson Hunter. SAO X Reader. [DRAFT].

●Reboot Progress Update #1:

Hey, hope yall are doing good from wherever you are. Almost done with my finals, and then I can get to live life properly, and finally focus on this book.

Now, I'm posting this because I've decided to make a series of updates relating to the progress on the reboot(as said in the title, duh.) Such as how far along I've gotten to planning it properly. And I'll be making various, and specific notes of importance relating to it, as a way of helping yall understand what's going to happen from here on out.

Good? Good.

So, on to the details:

- Firstly, I am about halfway done with a written out draft plan, each chapter within this plan is listed with bulletins of brief summeries for each one, along with that, I've made the decision to extend each chapter in order to provide the most amount of detail for both world building and characters overall, canon, gamewise and those that I've created on my own. I've even decided to create chapters that fill in the time gaps throughout the SAO series in order to help that, as an example, the Chapter 18b in this book is set around the time the safe zone murders occur. In the reboot however, this will only happen in Chapter 25(which I'm currently busy with).

- Secondly, I've made several decisions relating to how much I'm changing the story to fit this new reboot, obviously with the removal of the Alpha segments, there will be a lot of gaps that need to be filled in or changed since it affected a big part of the story, so I've made some changes(which I will say but wont go into detail in order to refrain spoilers.) Such as:

1. Certain relationships between characters are now changing. And will be told in a slightly different way.
2. I will be putting in segments of both the real world and the game world throughout the story.
3. Erca-Tor is a red guild for a much more different, but very impactful reason.
4. The Sub-Leaders, Elites, and Percival will be more fleshed out as Characters.
5. More created character and canon character interactions.
6. The Hollow Fragment and other game stories will be removed and I will focus mainly on the show and movies made, but I will still use their characters much like other SAO reader inserts have done.
7. There will be no reader choices, nor reputation meter, but I will use most of the choices made previously.(Most).
8. I will only start publishing after I watch the SAO Progressive Movie, since this will provide more characters and story elements to work with. (Sorry).
9. This reboot will be more mature than before, this is to say that I've made the decision to put in elements of alchohal usage, more vivid descriptions of violence and death, as well as (very few)periodic segments of sexual content, I want to write this story in a way that makes Sword Art Online's world seem more brutal and real compared to it's original portrayal, as for why I made the decision.
10. The reader character is going to more fleshed out, and will also have a picked last name, this is for my own ease of writing. I'll also be fleshing out the other canon characters so they become even more likable/dislikeable.

- Thirdly, Due to how long these chapters might end up being, and how long the writing process would take. I've decided to copy the release methods of Netflix's Arcane and release these chapters 3 at a time, then write the next 3 as quickly and as properly as possible and repeat the method. This will make the wait longer, but it'll be very much worth it.(Much like Arcane, seriously, watch Arcane if you haven't already, it's a literal masterpiece of animation and storytelling.).

- Fourthly, Due to the possible long gaps between chapter groups, I've also decided to possibly add in my own illustrations of certain scenes, not all of them, but some in order for the wait to be worth it. This is mainly for myself since I'll be using this as art practice during my time in The Animation School. So you can look forward to that.

- And lastly, and this is the most important one to note here: This book is NOT my top priority in life, I'm not getting paid for this, this entire book is purely so that i can practice my skills as a writer for my own stories and projects in the future. I have my own life to deal with, and various things such as my higher education and jobs to make money so I don't starve to death are going to be far more important than a fanfiction. And while I will do my best to give you the story you want, don't expect me to instantly be at the beck and call because some of you are impatient.
