●Chapter 3: Clearing Floor 1.

Floor 1, Tolbana.

One month... an entire month has passed since Sao has started, and the players trapped haven't been able to find the boss room in order to advance. Over the course of the month 2000 players have already died, out of that number 300 were apparently ex-beta testers.

You arrived in the town of Tolbana, you had heard that a meeting would be held today on finding and defeating the floor boss. Shoji stood by your side, you had changed your hair colour to(H/C2), what it previously was when you logged in, that somehow managed to calm him down, making him feel as if this isn't real, you didn't like how this was a way to cope but right now it was all you could think of.

"So I guess we're finally here...right?" Shoji asked beside you. You were about to reply but two other players came up beside you, "Well I hope so kiddo, or else we might be walking for an awful long time" said the male player, he was the same height as you with blonde curly hair and blue eyes like Shoji. Shoji laughed a little at the joke he made. Then the other player walked up beside the first and smacked him beside the head, she was slightly shorter than you with brown locks in a ponytail, with Amber eyes. "Quit the terrible jokes Kore, we have things to do." The first player rubbed his head in slight annoyance, but didn't say anything as to avoid getting hit again.

These two players beside you were Kore and Akira, they had joined up with you about two weeks after the game started. You all met one day when you had to team up to complete a quest.

November 20,2022.
Floor 1, Carnbury village.

Two weeks passed and it was raining, you were currently at level 5 and Shoji at the same level as you. Once you arrived at the village you decided to find the nearest inn to stay for the night, and to dry up.

Upon entering you noticed three things: First was that there were around five other players inside, Second was that two players, one blonde and one brunette were having a small argument, and Third was the innkeeper seemed to have a quest icon above him. You walked towards the counter to see what kind of quest he had.

《The good inkeeper's dog has up and vanished, and is offering up a good sum of Col and items for the good Samaritan who finds him and brings him back》
Rewards:
- 17 000 Col.
- Gecko leather jacket.
- Elf steel dagger.
- 10 misc materials.

The rewards were promising, and it seemed to be an easy enough quest, except for one problem: the player requirements. This quest required two different types of players, one with a level 3 tracking skill(probably to find the dog) and another with a level 2 cooking skill(maybe to get him to follow you? I don't know). You had a tracking skill at level 5, so that wouldn't be a problem but neither you nor Shoji had invested in cooking since you thought it wouldn't be necessary.

"I guess we should've been more careful with picking skills huh?" Shoji said as he shifted on the chair he was sitting on. "Yeah...well it won't be a problem if we find someone willing to join us who has a cooking skill.". Shoji then fell silent, this made you worried, ever since that announcement he has been mostly silent. It took 2 days to convince him to leave the Town Of Begginings, he was afraid of even trying to hunt something as harmless as a boar, but over the past week he became more calm. Though he was still being quiet.

'I doubt we will be able to find another player willing to join us, and one that has a cooking skill no less.' You said in your mind. You were getting slightly frustrated that you would have to pass up such a profitable quest. But just as you were about to decline it you felt a tap on your shoulder.
