"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, and a most special welcome to my beautiful bride to be." he looks at me with love sick eyes. A shiver crawls down my spine. "As you are aware in agreement I must give my bride to be 3 wishes. I now presents to you her first wish: A set of fairy nutshells."
Small tinkering bells were heard and then Pearl came into the banquet hall with a tray. People around gasping, Pearl walked towards me. I was almost in the middle of the room. As she came closer I saw Hazelnuts on the tray. My father had actually found my first wish. As Pearl came close I found my eyes locked on the a fairy. He was sitting on the tray with the Hazelnuts.
"Princess Hazel." said the fairy in a soft but loud voice. "I am Blade Grass. The crafter of the hazelnuts you have wished for. I do hope they meet your satisfaction." He then bowed and flew out an open window. For a fairy he sure was fast. And he only left a small breeze behind.
Within moments I was surrounded by hundreds of women trying to get a closer look at the hazelnuts. They were absolutely beautiful. I picked up the first one it was a necklace. I slipped it on around my neck. It fit perfectly. "A hazelnut necklace for the beauty my father sees in me." I said putting on a forced smile. Ruby helped me with this part of my speech. We had to make it sound as real as possible.
I then picked up the ring. "A hazelnut ring for practical. And a hazelnut bracelet for charm." I said as Pearl clasped the bracelet around my wrist.
Upon examining the bracelet a little close, I saw a small clasp and hinges. I open it to reveal a soft plush lining inside. I looked at the others as well and each one just as beautiful than the last. They were all just just big enough to holds a small a diamond ring. They were perfect. Now for my other 2 wishes. This was going to take some time.
"Oh Princess Hazel, you're so lucky," said Daisy my on and off again friend. Daisy had short yellow hair just like daisies in the summertime. she always wore white dress to bring out sparkling blue eyes. To me they looked just like the sea. "My father would never give me such a wish."
"Thank You. Daisy. They are exquisite." I smile back. "how do they suit me?"
"Perfectly." commented Rose. "I shall ask father for some as well. But maybe not hazelnuts, those are more you."
I then took a turn about the room showing off my first wish. I got lots only complaints and may sorry expression, I then returned back to my friends.
I soon found Violet one of my most charming friends as a child. I dared her to climb a tree with me one day. Her father became so furious at me that we could only be friends at indoor gatherings. Violet had long brown hair and violet eyes. Her lips were always curled in a smile. She love to wear light colors, today she was in pink.
"Princess Hazel I would consider marrying your father." said Violet out of the blue. My jaw drop and the grape in my hands fell to the floor.
"Violet!" shrieked Rose, "you must be joking."
"No I am not. She wished for Fairy nutshells! And she got a necklace, a bracelet, and a ring. I would wish for 3 elegant ball gowns." said Violet.
"That is true." said Daisy shaking her head, "Violet loves her ball gowns."
Rose, Daisy and I all giggled softly. We knew Violet all too well. She wore a big smile as she sipped her tea, she should have been born a princess.
"But not just the dress. I would want shoes, gloves, taria, a coat, a purse or clutch, and jewelry to match." Violet was lost in thought, her tea cup was halfway to her lips, as she sigh at those dress she saw.
"But you would just want 3 dresses?" asked Rose. "Hazel just asked for a set of something using one wish!!"
"Of course! A dress plus the shoes and accessories is one wish each. Why would I want anything else?" asked Violet.
