Aftermath of the Calamity - Zelda's Adventures

Off to Hateno Village

"Are you all ready?" Link asked.

"Almost!"

"Ok, I'm gonna go get our horses ready. I'll be back in a few minutes."

"Ok, be safe." Zelda agreed.

"I know!" I like how he replies like that...

"Can I help you with anything, your highness?" Paya asked, coming into the room and making Zelda jump.

"Oh! Uh, let's see... Can you hand me my brush? It's in the second drawer..."

"Oh, ok."

"Thank you. Did you have a nice morning?"

"Um, yes, I had a wonderful Hot Buttered Apple for breakfast."

"That sounds delicious... I might have that!"

As if reading her mind, Link came in with 2 Hot Buttered Apples. "Hey Zelda! I made some..." Link stopped after seeing Paya in the room. "Morning Paya." he said quietly.

Paya almost immediately turned red.

"Uh, Paya, I'm all done packing, so could I please get dressed?"

"O-of course!" Paya nodded, then left the room.

"What was she doing here?" Link asked, closing the door.

Zelda brushed her hair. "She was... helping." She said, trying to find her words.

Link sighed. "Here's a bit of breakfast."

"Thank you." mmm... "where did you get this? It's so sweet..."

Link turned a bit pink. "uh, I made it... Koko taught me."

"Wow! You're a great cook!"

"Th-thanks. Anyways, after you get dressed, meet me in front of the steps of Impa's house."

"Ok!"

At around 9:30, they were ready to go, and were trotting out of the village.

"Have safe travels, Zelda! You too Link!" Impa called from right outside her doors, after Zelda and Link as they rode out of Kakariko Village.

"We will!" Zelda called back as Link was fumbling around on the Sheikah Slate.

"Alright, so we should be able to get to Hateno Village at around 2:00 o'clock, but no stopping. If we take a few breaks for sight-seeing, then we should arrive around 2:45... so what's the plan?"

"I'd like to look around a bit... I miss all of the sights."

"Sounds like a great plan!"

After an hour or so of riding, they arrived at a great field, where 100 years ago, Zelda tried to make Link eat a frog.

"Do you remember when you tried to-" Link tried to ask.

"Y-yes, I remember." Zelda interrupted, embarrassed of what she did.

Link smiled, and then laid himself out on the soft grass, and closed his eyes, soaking up the sun. Zelda sat down, letting the wind flow through her hair. The sweet, fresh air filled her nose, and the soft grass pressing against her soft skin. They sat there, for a few minutes, relaxing, and taking breaths of the wild.

"Let's get going." Link said. "I wish we could stay here longer, but we should really get going."

"Yes, that sounds good." They climbed onto their horses, and set off onto the path to Hateno Village. "Is Purah that small?"
