Zelda POV
"He's going to need a good two weeks, at least, your highness," the medic said, with sadness in their eyes. "I'm afraid that means you can't go anywhere either."
I looked down at Link, unconscious, with bandages wrapped his arms, neck, and stomach. I felt my eyes burn, and silently nodded. "Is there-" I cleared my throat, feeling it slowly closing. "Is there anything I should do to help him heal...?" I felt my right hand shake.
"I'm afraid there isn't much you can do. We can come and renew bandages, treat the wounds, give new doses of numbing medicine, but the healing process should be left alone." I glanced at the medic's name tag. Livie.
"Th-thank you, Livie." I left the stable, and went out back. I sniffed. Not again...please be alright this time. Link...please...
~~~
I stared at the ceiling, unable to move. Unable to do anything, really. I wasn't hungry, I couldn't venture out far, and there was nothing to do besides feeding the horses, taking care of the grounds, and checking people in. But then other people wouldn't have anything to do. I sighed. Nothing to do, except worry and sit.
I studies the boards up above, looking at the wood, painted gracefully with care and detail. The sheets under me were warm, and the blanket I had over me was soft. My pillow was drenched with my tears, and my breathing was still uneven.
Why are the Yiga still around? Why can't they leave? Isn't there anything else to do than injure my knight? So badly that I can't go anywhere? I sighed, wiping my face dry with my sleeve. I wish I could do something that isn't sit around and wait for two weeks. Isn't there some other knight...?
"Zelda!"
"yes...."
"Zelda!!"
"h-huh?" I rushed outside to where my name was being called.
"Link is doing better!" Livia cried, "We thought it would take two weeks, but- he heals so quickly, it'll only take two days-?!" Livia looked back at Link, who seemed as if there was something below him, making him float in the air; his hair moved as if there was wind, but he was inside the stable.
I squinted. I took a step toward him, and saw little ghostly fires around him, and the blood on his bandages seeping away. The small cuts and bruises were now gone, and then his eyes fluttered open.
"Oh -- hello Link...are you alright?" I said worriedly, trying not to startle him.
He nodded, looking down at the bed and catching a glimpse of one of the fires. His eyes widened a bit, looking sheepish and surprised. He gave a quiet laugh as I raised an eyebrow, suspicious.
I won't ask any questions today, I thought, gently hugging him. I'm just glad you're okay...!
