Blame Game

**2 weeks later**
Nikki's pov
After the fire we had two weeks of so they could rebuild the science block and the nearby classrooms. If I'm honest I'd rather have been at school, with Tiffany at the school house she hasn't missed an opportunity to invite Justin round and rub my face in it. I still can't believe everyone thinks that I started this fire, believe me if I wanted to kill her I would've set her on fire not the class room.

I get my uniform on and head down for breakfast and sit on a table on my own I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone and they aren't in the mood to talk to me.

When I'm finished I head out the door and make my way to the school when I get there Bonnie is waiting by the gates.
"I think the police are here." She whispered
"What makes you say that?" I said looking around
"Because the police are here." She said pointing to inside the school where Mr Fitzgerald is talking with the same cop the interviewed us about Lisa.
"Get inside." I said grabbing Bonnies arm and entering through the back.

In tutor we sit and I just stare at the back of Justin's head, unlike usual neither Scott and Justin turn around and neither of them speak.
After what felt like forever the bell went but then there was a knock at the door and the cop walks in.
"Nikki Mulgrew please." He said, I get up from my desk and walk over to him and follow him down the corridors and into Mr Fitzgerald's office.
"Hello again Nikki, take a seat." He said gesturing to the chair in front of him. The policeman sits on the seat next to me and Miss Huchinson and my mum are stood behind Mr Fitzgerald.
"God, what is she doing here?" I muttered glaring at my mum
"There has to be a parent present for me to interview you." PC Fairchild said
"Wait interview me?" I said, I knew it I'm going to get blamed for this.
"For the fire that happened in the science room, two weeks ago." He said
"But it wasn't me." I said
"We have a witness statement that says they saw you entering the classroom and locking the door just before the estimated time of the fire and left locking the door with just enough time to start a fire. Plus Tiffany has told us you trapped her in there and started the fire." He said
"She's lying! I didn't do anything." I said
"Then where were you at the estimated time?" He asked
"I was about to go into the science room to give miss some course work but then Scott Fairchild ran up to me and started telling me that Justin wasn't planning on going to the dance." I said
"Funny because Scott was the witness." He muttered. Why would Scott lie he doesn't even like Tiffany.
"No way, this is a set up." I said
"Who set you up?" He asked
"This is a set up," I repeated in realisation "Kenzie Calhoun, Tiffany Westbrook and I think Scott was probably bribed into it."
"Are you telling me Tiffany Westbrook was in that science room knowing that Kenzie was going to set the cupboard alight?" He said
"Yes, it makes sense! Kenzie wants to be with Justin Fitzgerald and I was so she confronted me she told me to break up with Justin and that if I didn't she'd make my life a living hell, this is her making my life hell!" I pointed out
"Then explain why Tiffany Westbrook was in that room." He said
"Kenzie called Tiffany to tell her to come back to Greenock and Kenzie set fire to the closet because she hoped Justin would come and save Tiffany and end his relationship with me. Now she has some grand scheme to actually get rid of Tiffany so she can be with Justin." I said
"That's a lot of trouble for one girl to go to so she can be with one boy." He said
"I agree. But Kenzie loves to play games." I muttered
"We will take what you said into consideration but I hope you realise there is a lot of evidence against you, not just the witness statement and what Tiffany has said," he said "you can go." I get up to leave but Mr Fitzgerald asks me to stay so he can speak to me alone.

"Is this true Justin is back with Tiffany?" He asked
"Yeah, didn't you know? They are at the school house together all the time." I rolled my eyes
"Oh." He muttered
"Couldn't you see it when he saved her and then went with her to hospital, he never stopped loving her, even when he said he loved me." I said
"He loved you?" He said
"Love doesn't mean a lot these days, it's just thrown around. Not many people believe the word when they say it," I muttered "but I did."
"You can go." He said and I just nodded and walked to class and took my seat next to Bonnie and filled her in.
