"You are?" I ask
"Yeah. Your brother is too" He says
"I got Abnegation, erudite, and dauntless" I say
"Three?" He says amazed
"Why? Is that not normal?" I ask
"Usually if someone is divergent they have two aptitudes. But three. It's almost impossible" He says
"Hmm" I say
"Well. Don't tell anyone. It's very dangerous. Jeanine Matthews kills divergents" He says
"The erudite representative?" I ask
"Yup. I don't know why. Be careful Tris" He says and ushers me out
Why would she want to kill divergents?
I decide to go to the dining hall so I can get some dauntless cake in my system to help me think.
I grab two pieces and sit down at my usual table.
Then I feel someone wrap their arms around me.
"Hey. Why didn't you tell me you were getting cake?" Zeke asks
"I was just thinking" I say
"About?" He asks
Should I tell him? But Amar said told tell anyone. But this is Zeke I can trust my own boyfriend.
"Well I'm divergent" I say
Zeke's eyes widen.
"Really? I am too" He says and pulls me into a hug.
"I thought I was the only one" He says
"Well you're not" I say
He laughs.
"Yeah I know" He says
He grabs my fork and starts eating my cake.
"Hey get your own cake" I say
"Nope. Sharing is caring and I'm too lazy" He says
I sigh. "Fine" I say and snatch the fork and take a bite
Zeke takes the fork after me and I look over my shoulder and see Tobias and Shauna walking in.
I wave them over.
"Hey" Shauna says
"Hey" I say
"How'd your landscape go?" She asks
"Good. I guess" I say
"What about you babe?" She asks Tobias
He says nothing and stands up. He walks out of the dining hall.
"I'm gonna check on him" I say
I walk out and follow him. He's headed towards the chasm.
He stops and stands by it.
"What's wrong?" I ask
"Was Marcus one of your fears?" He asks
"Uh yeah" I say
"Me too. I can't help but feel like a coward right now" He says
"You're not. I'm not. That man was cruel and depicable" I say
He sighs.
"Look. You are no coward. He was an awful person. He beat us. We have every right to be scared of him" I say
He nods.
I hug him.
"I'm gonna get cake. You are too. No excuses" I say and grab his arm
