Sing ~2

It's been a few minutes and I'm still internally debating on how to approach them. Do I call Trevor aside, or do I ask him in front of Ricky? Will Ricky ask me why I need to use his phone? Oh god I'm going to have a panic attack if I don't calm down.

I can't do it, I can't do it.

Oh shut up, yes you can.

Fuck it, I'm doing it.

Still shaking excessively, I get up and make my way over to them. I could've sworn I heard them singing. "I'm sick and tired of staying up, to see the break of dawn", I hear them sing in perfect harmony. Jesus, they are really good. It's a shame they don't show it off because they're probably afraid they'll get bullied. Huh, imagine that! The tables getting turned. Finally. I take a deep breathe and I speak up (well more like 'speak down' with the volume I spoke at).

"T-Trevor" I cough, trying to cover up my stutter.
"Yes?" He replies politely, before Ricky butts in.

"What do you want, twiggy?" He coldly spits. Wow, harsh much? He probably knows how self conscious I am of my bony legs and arms, what a twat. I can't help my (mild) Marfan syndrome. I let it go (LET IT GOOOOOOO) (sorry) quickly and set my mind back to the task at hand. After all, I don't want Ricky to see how weak I really am.

"Hey! Don't be mean Ricky, he's a nice kid." Trevor speaks up, flashing me a genuine smile. Trevor really is too nice for them.

How do I word it? I guess I'll just ask, since there's not many other options.

"Can I talk to you quickly? Please?" I ask, trying to use my manners.
"Sure, be right back Ricky!" He calls, then hops off the bench and follows me over to my bags.

"Could I maybe please borrow your phone for two seconds? My phone died and I need to tell my mum I'm going to Tyler's house. It's fine if you don't want me to, I'll ask someone else." I explain, practically begging him.

"No no it's fine, but only if you tell what you and Tyler are planning on doing..." He smirks, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively and trying to keep a straight face.

"Just homework. I swear!" I laugh, finding it funny how even he ships us, I'm starting to think I'm the only person who doesn't.
"Sureee... Anyway, as long as you don't take too long, I don't mind." He offers, handing me his phone. "I don't have too much credit left."
"Thanks Trevor, I really appreciate it! I'm just going to go outside so I can hear properly," I lie. "I'll only be one minute."

Hoping he can't see me, I go behind a wall and click on 'contacts'. I scroll down to 'c'.

I silently laugh at the nickname then click on the contact, careful not to click call.

On the back of an old homework sheet, I scribble down his number. Then, to cover my tracks I call my mum for 5 seconds then hang up so it shows up. I then delete the history of the last minute and shut off the phone.

Walking quickly, trying my hardest not to look at all suspicious, I head back over to Trevor.
"Thank you so much!" I say, aware of the eye-daggers Ricky is shooting at the side of my head. I hand him back his phone and say goodbye before scurrying off to my bags.

Not wanting to risk Trevor realising I hadn't called my mom, I pick up my bags and go back out to the field.

I had 15 minutes until break, so I got out a notebook and pen to start writing my favourite lyrics for my idea.

Honey your soul could never grow old, it's evergreen

Baby, your smile's forever in my mind and memory
