Nothing interesting in this chapter, really... except maybe RAOUL REDEMPTION ARC I HAVE WAITED SO LONG FOR ! ! ! LET'S GO!

Taking advantage of the way that I was dressed, I came into my room through a window. I left only my shirt and trousers on and practically fell onto my bed to make the most of what was left of the night.

When I woke up, the morning was already long gone. As I realized that the sunrays coming through the window were not the light of dawn, I was very grateful that Christine wasn't trying to drag me out of bed, but simply let me get my sleep.

With greatest reluctance, I changed into my normal clothes, and hid my phantom ones in my bag. Even so I was in weirdly high spirits. Yesterday's meeting with Erik was all that I needed in my life. For the first hour after leaving my bed I didn't even remember what had happened later in the bar...

Oh... yes... I hadn't even been wondering what would very soon happen...

If Christine sang, we would stay with Erik. If she left, Erik would remain alone for the rest of times. I tried to stay neutral, I really did. But for some reason I was unwittingly counting that she'd sing. I wanted to stay with Erik, not leave with Raoul. I knew that the only thing that could make Christine follow her husband was awareness of the existance of the deal. She had promised Erik to sing and she would resign from it only after finding out that it will change her entire life forever. I decided not to tell her about it and watch what happens.

As I was processing the possible outcomes, I emerged from the and bedroom into our main room. Gustave was sitting at the piano, playing something and Christine was right next to him, singing as he played. The scene was cute but didn't last long, since when the boy spotted me, he immediately left his seat and ran up to me, inquiring in excitement:

"Can we go now, Mother? Maya woke up!"

I laughed, when I saw that he was feeling better as well. Christine's reaction to her son's question was the same as mine. Gustave was jumping in excitement, ready to rush out the door and run on his own feet to Phantasma's concert hall and see Christine sing. Meanwhile I gave her a thankful look for keeping Gustave from waking me me up for so long.

Christine turned her eyes back to Gustave and replied sweetly:

"Yes, now we can go and get ready for my performance."

When Gustave ran to his room, to get his formal clothes to change into, Christine stood up and explained to me that we were to turn up earlier in the place, so that she could get to rehearse her song for the last time and get ready for the performance itself. She warned me, that it would take place late, in the evening, so Gustave and I might get bored in the meantime, but I assured her that we would surely handle that; we wouldn't be watching paint dry, not in a place such as Phantasma!

I also went back to our bedroom and took my phantom clothes with me. If we were going to Phantasma, I wanted my most comfortable outfit on me there. I also took my box of secrets; while I'm there, I might as well write something more in my poem, or even show the box to Erik. I was very excited at this possibility. I packed all that I considered necessary to my bag and went back to the main room.

Gustave was ready and eager to go. Christine was no less prepared to leave for Phantasma. All three of us walked out and took a carriage to the park. It was no surprise that the ones who picked us up were Mr Y's friends, which Gustave and I had already gotten to know.

What confused me though, was that the boy was not scared anymore. I wasn't really convinced that he could forget yesterday's events that easily, so I assumed that Christine must've told him something later in the evening that changed his attitude. That was the only way to explain why his excitement and Erik's golden glow in his eyes had returned.
