Izuku looked at the band that Nezu had given them at the end of another of their quirk counseling sessions. It looked like a normal fitness band, but Nezu had somehow got the support course to create the one Izuku wore to keep a tab on their emotions in a way. The trends that the band could produce, was to help Nezu determine how Izuku's original quirk worked. Izuku had also decided to name their quirk, it was now filed under the name of "Emote". Nezu had also deduced something new during their session, something that made Izuku uncomfortable.

Apparently, "Emote" could be used on other people as well.

Due to the fact that Hisashi Midoriya kept the quirk curbed so long, that, Izuku's quirk may have developed in a way that using it in that way could hurt Izuku back, especially as they are still at the initial stages of training it. The fact that "One for All" amplified what was already present in their user was making the use of "Emote" on others almost suicidal.

Nezu had even deduced, that Izuku might also be able to project some of their more intense memories if it went out of hand.

And so, to make sure his deductions were correct, the band was made. It was to be worn at all times, a fail-safe making sure that it did not come off. Izuku could remove the band, only after going through a complicated series of steps, only when it was necessary. The band was charged through the electrical impulses of the body, hence never running out of juice. The band was also a sort of siren, it would notify someone anytime Izuku's own emotions would go out of control. Nezu, All Might, Aizawa, and Recovery Girl had already seen the self-inflicted scars.

Izuku walked back to the dorms, still fiddling with their new band. It did still have some fitness band functions that they were interested in utilizing in their training. As they walked, they didn't notice the person trailing behind them and hence yelped loudly when they spoke from behind them.

"Oi Nerd." Said Katsuki, his voice an unusual monotone.

Izuku clutched at the front of their chest, their heart beating fast. The one person they wanted to avoid at all costs was now standing in front of them, a very calculating look on his face as if he were himself analyzing Izuku. Izuku stared back with an unconcerned expression on their own face, they just wanted to get back to the dorms.

As if their prayer was heard, a voice behind Katsuki called out.

"Bakugou! Bro! Come on! We are sparring today!" called out Kirishima.

Katsuki took one last glance at Izuku, before walking away towards Kirishima and the rest of the group which had been dubbed the Bakusquad.

Izuku took a sigh of relief then.

But, they then realized, what was that pang of pain in their chest now that came in suddenly?

-------------*---------------*-------------*---------------

Such a useless piece of shit.

Beep.

Stay away! You are contagious!

Beep. Beep.

Useless Deku. Can't even defend yourself and you're trying to stand up for other useless people!

Beep. BEEP!

Just die. Who knows if you'll be reborn with a quirk this time.

Beep. Beep. BEEP! Izuku........

Take a swan dive off the roof, you freak.

Bloody quirkless thinks she's cool being a boy.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Izuku.......

Stop looking down at me, you freak!

BEEP! BEEP! IZUKU! IZUKU WAKE UP!

Jolted awake, and disconcerted, Izuku propped up, in the process head-butting Aizawa. Murmuring an "Ouch", Izuku came to, realizing they were on their bed in their dorm. Aizawa stood in front of them, rubbing his own forehead and their band was beeping furiously, which they turned off.

Wait, Izuku just head-butted their teacher.

"I'm so sorry Aizawa sensei!" they said, frantically, now fully sitting up.

"Ah, it's okay. Are you alright? Your band notified me." Aizawa asked back, sitting on the edge of Izuku's bed.

Izuku checked their alarm clock. It was 3:18 am in the morning.

"Oh, I'm sorry sensei, just a nightmare. Nothing I haven't had before." Izuku's voice fell to nearly a whisper at the end.

"Izuku." They looked up as Aizawa said, "You scratched yourself again."

It was true. Fresh scars now adorned their arms, their nails filled with their dried blood.

"Ah." Izuku simply said.

Aizawa's face filled with concern. "Just Ah?" he asked, concern eminent in his voice.

"They were just old memories. Bad ones. That's all." Izuku had now curled up into themself.

Aizawa knew it wasn't just that. "Kid, are you okay?"

Izuku stiffened. Were they okay?

The answer was no. They were not.

Before Aizawa could do or say anything else, Izuku burst into a flood of tears.
