Izuku was horrified.
Not only had she lost control of "Emote" yet again, but Kirishima and Katsuki had also seen everything.
That too after all the warnings Nezu had given her in their last few sessions.
She sat through the entire conversation with Aizawa with her face nestled between her palms. Embarrassment came off of her in waves, she definitely wanted to burrow under the ground for that. After another round of healing from Recovery Girl, Izuku swallowed the energy gummies given to her to restore her stamina and Aizawa had escorted her back to the dorms. Where, of course, the rest of her squad were waiting for her.
It had been difficult to look into their eyes then. How was she supposed to explain everything?
It had been Asui who suggested they'd better go to her room before discussing anything. Glad for the suggestion, it had been Izuku who led everyone towards her room. They had sat there for a while before Todoroki spoke.
"Midoriya. We wanna know." He said, looking with calculating eyes at his best friend. "We are worried. Please?"
Izuku didn't know to trust her words. So instead she signed. Iida who knew to sign due to the fact his brother had taught him after a mission requiring him to interact with deaf and mute children, translated for the group.
Izuku had explained about "Emote" and its tendency to burst out when she felt the most negative of emotions. She gave a brief but detailed rundown of her previous relationship with Katsuki, leaving out the finer details. She didn't want anyone to get in trouble if their anger took over. After Iida finished translating her last few signs about what happened the previous day, the group fell into silence. Uraraka had tears in her eyes, whereas Iida and Todoroki looked at each other in concern for their best friend. Asui rubbed Izuku's arm, trying to comfort her. It wasn't long before a knock rapped on her door.
"Midobro?" came Kirishima's muffled voice through the door. "Can I come in?"
The four looked at Izuku, trying to decipher her reaction at the sudden intrusion, who slowly nodded back. Asui then got up, letting him in.
"Oh! I should have known you guys would be here too." He said nervously as Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki looked at him with narrowed eyes. He faced Izuku, who looked back curiously. "Um, Midobro, I wanted to talk to you personally. Is it okay if we could?"
The others immediately snuck in closer, surrounding Izuku, reluctant to leave her alone. Kirishima scratched the back of his neck nervously, not knowing how to proceed. Izuku sighed, before saying, "You guys....I'll be fine. He's harmless."
Being called Harmless didn't decrease the nervousness Kirishima had.
The other four stared at Izuku long enough, who looked back in defiance of sorts, before Todoroki himself gave a sigh and beckoned Uraraka, Iida, and Asui out of the room.
Kirishima slowly approached Izuku, questioning her with his gaze, before she realized and patted her bed next to her; Kirishima took the last few steps and sat down where she had indicated at.
Another awkward round of silence filled the room.
"Um...." started Kirishima, fiddling with his fingers. "So, about yesterday......"
Izuku fidgeted with her own hands as she said back, "Uh, yeah..."
"All those memories were real, right?" asked Kirishima, face red.
Izuku's face was a similar red in embarrassment, "Yes."
"Okay."
It was another few minutes of silence before Kirishima spoke again.
"You know." He said, this time turning to face Izuku fully, they looked at each other as he continued. "I don't believe what he did to you was right, in fact, I condemn all that he did." Izuku's eyes widened. "But I do see that finding out about your side has made him rethink a lot of things."
"Oh."
"Look." Kirishima grabbed her hands. "I know that he did a lot of things that have hurt you bad. Heck, I'd be devastated too. On top of that, he keeps interacting with Denki, Sero, Mina, and me the way you expected him to do for you right?"
Izuku nodded in answer.
"I am not saying to totally forget and forgive all that he did to you. We all see how much he wants to change everything and repair everything between the two of you." Izuku stiffened. "I also know it's going to be very difficult for you to believe that he does." Izuku nodded again. "So I just wanted to say, will you instead give me and the other three a chance, to make sure he does good on his promises moving forth?"
That was a huge thing for Izuku to even consider at this point. But as she looked at Kirishima, she saw sincerity and hope in them. Kirishima was asking her to trust in him, even if she couldn't trust Katsuki. Her previous notions for the rest of the Bakusquad had started to disappear. After all, deep down, if they were to help make everything okay, she could trust them, right?
As if he could hear her internal monologue, Kirishima said, "You can trust us. We promise to set his ass straight and get him to give you the apology you deserve while making sure he doesn't hurt you again. Ever."
Izuku's eyes filled with tears, and as she nodded back, Kirishima engulfed her in a hug, letting her soak his plaid t-shirt.
"Don't worry okay? You'll get your old Kacchan back." Said Kirishima, comfortingly patting her back. "I promise you and your crazy squad who are probably hearing whatever I'm saying through the door."
Izuku gave a small chuckle, as she nestled deeper into the hug.
The Izuku squad who were actually listening through her door, all had a small smile gracing their faces.
