It's Okay, I'm Not Okay.

Chapter 2: Our Experiences bring us Together.

Inko had been hysterical.

The moment Izuku and the other students had come back from the USJ, their phones had gone off non-stop, concerned parents all around calling to ensure their children were safe.

And Inko was one of those parents who was the most hysterical.

It had taken Izuku a while to calm his mother down. Once the boy had calmed his mother down, Izuku was then able to cut the call and change into his favorite All Might hoodie, not before changing out of his binder and replacing it with a comfortable bra. He puffed a sigh of relief, the last week had been too chaotic.

It had started when the students had their first Hero vs Villain battle training class. All Might, Izuku's mentor for the past three years, had made his debut as a teacher in the class; everyone had been eagerly waiting for the class. Izuku had been very happy with her gender-neutral hero suit she had commissioned and had even blushed when Iida and Uraraka, the only two people in the class she ever talked to at that point anyway, had complimented her. Of course, being gender-fluid, all Izuku wanted was to project in the right way.

The day went south the moment the teams had been drawn and she was set up against KATSUKI of all people.

It had been brutal. Izuku who had not spoken a word towards the fiery Bakugou since the second year of middle school was forced to curse loudly when Katsuki had almost blown up half of their face. Katsuki had paused as well, it was the first time in forever that he had heard Izuku say anything towards him as well, but recovered and set another explosion, which Izuku deflected and used to distract Iida, who was Katsuki's partner, to help his own, Uraraka, to touch the bomb they had to recover and win the exercise.

Izuku's voice had not only surprised Katsuki but the other students, who till that point had only heard Izuku speak in a low voice or answering with a nod or shake of their head. Izuku had also used sign language with Kouda, who was very surprised to know that Izuku wasn't mute, but more like selectively mute.

They had been ambushed by those very students when they came back from being patched up by Recovery Girl. Uncomfortable, Izuku who was not used to any kind of positive attention, had somehow escaped the crowd and to their room, not before noticing Katsuki with his eyes narrowed at them.

The anxiety of the situation had caused Izuku to unconsciously scratch their arm so badly that the fingernails had left their marks yet again. When they realized it, all they did was grab the first aid box in their room and clean their wounds. The quirk that they always had before gaining "One for All"; one that they hadn't named yet, would feed on their emotions and amplify it greatly. They hated that it was their father's stupidity of inhibiting and hiding the quirk when it manifested, that for many years they had been identified as quirkless, denying them the training they required. Thankfully, there existed a rat-bear-man named Nezu, the principal of U.A High, who All Might had introduced them to a year ago, who had helped them greatly with it. Izuku was grateful that they now knew what had made them act out so rashly before was an effect of their own hidden quirk.

A few days after the whole training exercise, on the day Izuku somehow found themself appointed the Class representative, U.A had been broken into by reporters wanting to interview their mentor and in the whole chaos, the poor Green bean had almost suffered through a panic attack, when thankfully Iida had saved the day and Izuku had not hesitated to give their position off to the rule-abiding engine. The panic attack had again not gone unnoticed by Katsuki, who somehow seemed to hover around the general area Izuku was in the dorms later that night, keeping a watchful eye as Kirishima, Kaminari, Ashido, and Sero hung around him as well.

And the very next day, they had been attacked by the League of Villains. That day, Izuku had probably shone in the eyes of their classmates more as some had been witness to them punching the hell out of the Nomu and in turn terrifying the scratched-up Shigaraki, one of them being the child who refused to use the other part of his quirk. It had ended with All Might bursting the door of the USJ with twenty other heroes in tow; Shigaraki immediately escaping as the Nomu flew out of the USJ as All Might joined Izuku. Izuku's arm was only sprained, they had been able to use forty-five percent of "One for All" for a while now and everything would have been so much worse if Aizawa had not taken down most of the villains, and assisted Izuku when Shigaraki almost got his hand on Tsuyu. Aizawa had been sent to the hospital to be treated, whereas Recovery Girl had healed the students; they had been brought back to the U.A dorms.

A knock rapped onto Izuku's door and as they opened it, they saw Iida, Uraraka, and Todoroki of all people standing at the door, with Uraraka holding a variety of snacks and Iida holding bottles of coke. Todoroki shuffled on his feet nervously and Izuku knew the half-and-half boy just wanted to interact with them.

"Hey Midoriya, do you mind if we hung out with you today?" asked Todoroki, still nervous, it seemed he tagged along with Uraraka and Iida when they were already on their way to their room.

Izuku nodded and the three entered the Green child's room.

So, that day, Izuku made three best friends.

But at the same time, Katsuki had made his own clique of friends as well.

**AN: So, except for chapter 1, all the chapters of this book will be in third POV. I'm still starting the story so I'm establishing stuff here and there. And yes Izuku had already got good control over "One for All" and I've given a snippet of how their original quirk works, it's going to evolve as the angst comes in. Lord help me when I get to angst.
