It's not hard to find him, he's working outside, muttering to himself angrily. "Dad?" I ask, after watching him for a moment. He freezes. "What do you want?" he snarls back. "I just..." a tear slips from my eye. "I'm sorry.... I know your not going to except this, and I know you have every right to yell at me or hurt me or kick me out but I'm sorry...." He stops fully, and turns to me. "Why would I kick you out?" I let out a sigh of relief. "Cause of everything that happen.... I just thought" He laughs. "Please, you may piss me off, but I'll never kick you out" I just stay there, unsure of what to do. "I didn't mean what I said. I do want you to stay. And I really want you to come back" he walks over and hugs me.
"I know that.... And I'm so sorry I can't be here to watch you grow up.... I just.... I wish" he holds back a sob. "I really wish I could stay. And I will.... for as long as I can but... I'm so sorry, it's not up to me" I finally let myself full on cry as I pull away from him. He looks down at me for a moment. "Let's go inside... your mothers making dinner...." he stops as he looks at me. "What happened to your face?" he asks, all signs of sadness gone. "I'm fine, you should see Goro...." I comment, touching my still stinging cheek.
"What happened?" he growls, starting back towards the house. "Well, Captain tried to talk me into talking to you, and I said no. So Veteran came in, slammed me into the wall and slapped me. Goro pulled him off and Veteran beat him up. I tried to help but Captain stopped me so I kicked him in the leg and he swore at me. Then Ranch Hand came in, pulled him away from Goro, and threatened to beat them both. So they left and he sent Goro to get a fairy and talked to me about talking to you and I think you know the rest...." I stumble over my words, trying to find a way to calm him down. He continues to storm towards the house, and before he opens the door, turns to me and says. "If either of them... if any of them, ever touch you again, call for me or your mother. Don't let your siblings get involved, those boys are ten times more powerful than they are" I nod slowly. "And take Wars scarf, that'll hurt him more than any wound" he adds.
He opens the door and steps into the house. I scramble into the kitchen, running into Goro. "Are you okay?" I whisper, looking up at him. He looks a bit better. "Yeah, I'll be fine. I've gotten into worse fights in castle town" he smiles and looks at dad. "Are you okay" I nod and smile. "Yeah, we, sorted it all out, and don't worry. He's gonna have a talk with Veteran and Captain" Goro smirks. "Let's go get ready for the funeral then" Ruto whispers, all three of us giggle.
"I've already yelled at them dear" says mom as she walks out of the kitchen with a serving dish full of turkey in her hands. "Well then, I'll just have to yell at them again" says dad, kissing her and placing the serving dish on the table. "Not over dinner. I made something special tonight, Ruto and I have been working all day on it" Ruto beams with pride. "I make no promises" says dad walking upstairs to get dressed out of his work cloths. "I think we might need to start making tomb stones" says Goro, chuckling. "Oh hush, all of you, come help me with set up for dinner"
-----------------------------------
The moment we sit down to dinner, fear takes over, and I start stuffing my mouth full of food. "Manners" Ruto whispers. I sigh and eat a little slower. Veteran and Captain don't look at any of us, but mom, dad, Ruto, and Ranch Hand look ready to kill them both. Surprisingly, Goro is the one to speek. "I think you owe my little sister an apology... and an explanation" he says, giving them both a glare that makes dad look kind and forgiving (And I've seen Aunt Zelda and Uncle Marth flinch away at his glare). "I will explain, but I won't apologize" says Veteran. "Legend...." Bird Boy warns. "No, No Sky, they asked for an explanation, I'll give it to them. You're a spoiled brat who needs to learn fricken respect. And if he refuses to teach it to you, I will" Goro stands quickly, almost flipping over the table. "Your exact words were "I'm Gonna make you wish you were never born"" Now dad is on his feet. "You both threatened to and did hurt her. And then hurt me when I tried to stop you" he says.
"Oh shut up, your weak compared to us on a bad day" Captain snaps. "Wanna bet Scarf Boy?" asks Ruto. "We're not talking to you, sit down" says Veteran. "All of you sit the hell down" yells dad. They all turn to him, the others look at there plates, and I sink farther into my seat. "I know, I may seem like a tough person to get along with, but if you think I'm angry, when I yell at you for getting hurt in battle, then you have no idea what true anger is" he looks at Veteran and Captain. "You two did something that is unforgivable. I know that your both a little violent, but you hurt my children. You threatened to torture my daughter and you beat up my son. I swear, if we didn't have my family here I would beat you both until you were knocked out and bleeding" he growls. Out of the corner of my eye, I see the sailor sneek out of the room, and upstairs.
"If you so much as raise your voices to them again. You go out. Out of the group, out of this house, I won't ever want to see your face again" Captain glares back at him. "Fine" says Veteran, huffing and sitting down in his seat.
For a moment, we all sit here. I finally speek up. "I'm bringing this up to my room. I have work to do" I comment, standing up and serving myself more food before starting up the stairs. No one stops me.
------------------------------------
"What are you doing in here?" I ask as make my way to my room. "Oh... sorry I got... lost?" says Sailor, trying to come up with an excuse. "Uh huh, you're a terrible lyer, you know that?" I ask, placing my plate and glass down on a clear spot on my desk. "Do you like my pictures?" I ask, looking up at them all. "Yeah... you're really smart. I can barely speek Hylian correctly most of the time" he says, laughing. "Well, I can teach you sometime. If you guys stay a little longer" He smiles. "What's this?" I take down a picture of a boat that looks to have a lions head. "Oh, that's just something from one my fever dreams or something.... I can't remember all that much"
He takes the picture and studies it. "It's so realistic. Really..... can you make one for me?" I look over at him as I sit down at my desk. "What do you want me to draw?" He shrugs. "Something like the beach and the ocean, and a pirate ship. Yeah, a pirate ship!" he announces. I laugh. "Have you ever seen the ocean before" He nods vigorously. "I love the ocean, and the beach, and sailing" he grins even brighter. "Well... alright...." then, remembering the fact that it's hell incarnate downstairs, I stop him. "You wanna help me? Down stairs is a hell hole and I know I wouldn't want to go back to dinner" He smiles and nods again.
"Alright, sure...."
"Have you ever seen the sea?" he asks me, sitting down on another small chair near the desk. "No, dad's never let me go past Hyrule Castle Town... though I really do hope to see the world someday" He tilts his head to the side, confused. "I once said that.... then.... everything happened and..." he shrugs. "Ah, whatever, let's draw"
