It was easy for her to pick up the different things the crew needed help with, and she quickly gained their respect, because the men learned that Daria was truly not afraid to stab a man the hard way.

It was a warm day, one with a light breeze that brought the smell of salt to the ship. Daria was helping pull the sails and feed the hungry men. However, at this moment, she was leaning against the edge at the front of the boat, just watching the water as they flowed through it. Caspian had even joined her at some point, the two friends sharing a comfortable silence whilst looking out. That was, until something caught Daria's eye.
"Did you see that?" She asked, glancing back at Caspian.
"See what?" He asked, eyebrows furrowing and head moving closer to the sea. Again, what looked like a head poked out of the water. But it wasn't the usual mermaid head, this was different.
"That." Daria pointed vaguely as she started removing her jacket and her belt of knives.
"What are you doing?" Caspian glanced at her, knowing her and her spontaneous way of going about things.
"Going to look." Daria winked at him, pulling her hair back as she stepped on the ledge.
"No, get down from there." Caspian tried to pull her down, but she just slapped his hands away.
"They might need help." She shrugged, standing to her full height and turning.
"Uh, Drinian!" A crew man yelled to the captain. "Daria's 'bout to go overboard!" At this, the other men and animals turned in curious bewilderment.
"Your majesty, get her down!" Drinian yelled to the King.
"I'm trying!" Caspian glanced back for a fleeting second. With the new opportunity, Daria jumped off the side of the ship.
"Daria!" Caspian yelled. It was the last thing the woman heard before her ears filled with water and the salt stung her. The Lynx woman pushed her body away from the ship and towards the three figures quickly. A brief, distorted splash filled Daria's ears, and she knew more men were jumping in after her. She figured the men could get the first two easily, so she swam her way to the farthest one. A boy of what it looked like.
Poking her head from the surface, she saw a brunette girl, raven haired boy, and blond boy.
"It's alright, I've got you!" She heard Caspian say to the girl.
"Caspian!" The girl exclaimed.
"Lucy?" Caspian asked, pulling the girl to the ship. Daria's eyebrows furrowed. How did Caspian know these people who just appeared in the ocean?
"Edmund, it's Caspian!" The girl - Lucy - called to the raven haired boy.
"It's alright boys, your safe now." Emeth said to the last two.
"We're in Narnia?" Edmund asked, splashing to keep up.
"Yes, you're in Narnia." Daria confirmed as she swam closer to the blond boy.
"I don't want to go!" The boy began screaming. Daria drew back but quickly grabbed the boys arm.
"I want to go back to England! I'm going back to England!" The boy flared about.
"Calm down, stop squirming!" Daria yelled as she and the other men swam towards the ship.
"Hold on." Caspian told Lucy, one hand on her waist and the other on a rope. They were quickly pulled out of the water and their clothes clung to their bodies. Daria faltered at the sight of Caspian's back.

Once on the ship, towels were passed out.
"That was thrilling." Lucy giggled.
"How in the world did you end up here?" Caspian smiled, wrapping and arm around the girls shoulders.
"I have no idea." Lucy shrugged as they walked forward, all the crew men crowding around.
"Caspian!" Edmund called happily with a bright smile.
The king turned with a grin. "Edmund!"
"It's great to see you!" Edmund shivered and Caspian placed his towel around the young man's shoulders, leading him to Lucy.
"Good to see you." He chuckled.
"Didn't you call for us?" Lucy wondered.
"No, not this time." Caspian's smile faltered.
"Well, whatever the case, I'm just glad to be here." Edmund chuckled.
"No, don't worry! I've got it!" Daria yelled sarcastically as she pulled the flailing boy onboard the ship. He once more started screaming.
"No! Don't touch me!" He rolled around as Reepicheep sat atop him. "Get that thing off me!" The boy pushed Reep away. Luckily, Daria caught him as she still sat on the deck.
"Well, that was quiet rude." Daria rolled her eyes.
"Reepicheep!" Lucy called from behind them. The mouse turned and straightened his sword belt.
"Oh, your majesties." He said with a bow. Daria looked up at the kids they had just saved with her eyebrows furrowing.
"Hey Reep, what a pleasure." Edmund smiled.
"Oh, the pleasure is all mine. But first, what to do about this...this...hysterical interloper." Reepicheep motioned behind him at the blond boy.
"No, first, what to do about the barmaid still on the floor?" Daria eyed the men expectingly.
Caspian reached down and took her hands, pulling her up with ease.
"You shouldn't go jumping off boats." He scolded her with a smirk, his hands resting on her hips.
"You shouldn't go following me." She countered glancing at his lips subconsciously. Edmund and Lucy shared a glance.
"That giant rat thing just tried to claw my face off!" The unnamed boy screamed.
"I was merely trying to expel the water from your lungs, sir!" Reep explained.
"It talked, did you see...anyone just hear that?" The boy went into more hysteria. "It...it just talked!"
"He always talks." Emeth sighed.
"Its all he ever does." Daria crossed her arms over her chest, only now realizing her white shirt exposed her skin and under-things. Caspian noticed her growing discomfort and removed the towel from around his shoulders. He draped it over her frame and kept his arm around her in an attempt to warm her up.
"Look, I don't know what kind of prank this is, but I want to wake up right now!" The boy demanded.
"Perhaps we could throw him back?" Reepicheep suggested. Daria snorted. As the boy continued ranting, Edmund smirked at the idea.
"Edmund!" Lucy smacked his arm scoldingly.
"I demand to know! Just where in the blazes am I?" The boy stomped around, staring daggers from one man to the next.
"You're on the Dawn Treader, the finest ship in all of Narnia." Torres told him. The blond boy, in complete shock, fainted. The crew men laughed and howled. Daria walked over with a smirk, Caspian close behind her.
"Was it something I said?" Torres asked.
"See you him, will you?" Caspian smiled at the minotaur.
"Your majesty." The beast nodded.

"Men," Caspian began, climbing up the stairs to get a better view of everyone. Daria cleared her throat and looked at Caspian with raised eyebrows, arms crossed over her chest again.
"And lady," Caspian added. "Behold our castaways, Edmund the Just and Lucy the Valiant, High King and Queen of Narnia."
At this, Daria's breath hitched and she was the first one to her knee. High king and queen? Was the prophecy coming true?
