Third person POV
She told herself that after him she would never let someone get close to her like that again.
She told herself that she would never let her hurt someone on that sort of level once more.
She was dead set on this.
The he came.
He came unexpectedly.
She wasn't ready for him.
She was knocked completely off her feet.
He made her laugh and smile more than she had in months.
He made her happier more than anyone else
She found herself always smiling at his texts.
Laughing on the phone with him.
She found herself liking him when she told herself she wouldn't.
She found herself opening up like she had done with the past boy she loved. She hated the idea.
But he made her happy.
The walls she built around her heart crumbled to the ground with a single text. Then as if it were a flick of a switch, everything changed.
Everything was good until one day it wasn't.
His second replies turned into minutes.
Minutes turned into hours.
His replies were slow and short.
His sentence replies turned into words.
This is what she was protecting herself from.
She questions why this happened to her again?
She started questioning what went wrong.
Was it something she did?
Why does this keep happening to her?
She gets close to someone then they just lead her on.
Why?
Why her?
What did she do?
And just that quick her broken walls were built back high.
