Carlos sat in the waiting room anxiously awaiting answers about tk Carlos was petrified he didn't know if tk was gonna be okay he called Owen to let him know what had happened
Owen broke the silence sitting next to broken Carlos " I'm sorry Owen I should have watched more carefully it's my fault this happened-" Carlos said more tears coming down his face "no you listen to me okay he's alive because of you none of this is your fault okay son ." Owen said rubbing Carlos shoulder
"But what if -." Carlos paused " they say it might be someone with his heart -" Carlos stuttered in his own words " let's not think the worst Tk's strong and he's not gonna leave you ." Owen said
"Carlos Reyes ?" The nurse called " that's me ." He said almost falling as he stood up " I just need to go over some stuff for you before you visit tk since you have the power of attorney over his medical decisions it says here ? ." She said looking at her Carlos was not aware tk made him his power of attorney over all his medical decisions " right." Carlos said
"I'll fill you in when I get back ." Carlos said to Owen as he nodded she took Carlos into a room " is something wrong ? Is he going to -." He stuttered " tk has to have heart valve surgery which is a major surgery .." she said " but tk can't really talk and usually we turn it over to power of attorney so he has two options .." she said " option one would be less risky in and out within 4 hours but it would leave a pretty big scar down the center of his chest .." she said " and option two .." Carlos asked " option 2 in and out within 6 hours a little more risk and there would be no scar as we would do internal stitches his chest. Would look normal and no scar .." she said Carlos would of course had said option 1 it's less risky but that was just for his worries Carlos knew and saw how many scars tk had from Alex and how another big scar wouldn't help he didn't want tk to have to deal with something he would hate for the rest of his life " option 2 .. " he said " okay anything else we should know before we take him into surgery tomorrow?" The nurse said " no opioid based meds he wouldn't want that ." He said " alright ." She smiled
