It wasn't unusual for the other to wake up to an empty bed actually it's was more normal then then actually waking up together but they both had the day off so when Carlos turned left bed in the middle of the night looking for his boyfriend and was met with the cold bed and was anything but normal
But what Carlos found was more surprising then the empty side of the bed he said walked out of the bedroom going down the few steps seeing tk baking or at least trying to tk didn't seem to notice him coming down "Tk?" Carlos said passing the living room where his Tk's heard the news of his moms passing a month ago
Tk just continued going through there cabinets looking for whatever Carlos approached him seeing he had his AirPods in which would explain the lack of acknowledgment as Carlos touched his arm
"Sorry sorry I didn't mean to scare you ." Carlos said he said to a very started tk "did I wake you up ?" Tk said "no no I just went to go cuddle you and was met with an empty bed wanted to make sure you were okay ." Carlos said " what are you looking for anyways ?" "Toffee there was some the other day and now I can't find it ." Tk's said looking in another cabinet " I can't make them without them ." Tk said
"Babe stop for a minute." Carlos said centering tk " let me help you ." Carlos said " here it was hidden behind stuff ." Carlos said " thank you ." Tk said sprinkling in the toffee
"Can I help ?" Carlos said "baby go back to bed I'm okay I just couldn't sleep wanted to channel my energy into something else ." Tk said " if you up I'm up ." Carlos said " teach me ?" Carlos said "Carlos ." Tk said looking at his husband who was at the edge of the island "tk I'm not leaving so you can teach me or I can sit here and watch ." Carlos said "get over here ." Tk said slowing Carlos to see the ingredients "how did you two even come up with this recipe." Carlos laughed
"When i was young my dad was working all the time so me and my mom one day just grabbed random stuff from the pantry and threw it in and after that she just made them with me to make me feel better I guess it was her way of making up for it ." Tk said stirring it
"You miss her a lot." Carlos said he knew how close they were and how tk felt like he had a hole that would never be filled " that's bad right ?" Tk said as Carlos gave him a questioning look "I went months without seeing her only calling her a few times a week after we moved to Austin ." Tk said "things got busy you were going through a lot .." Carlos said "babe you have been talking to her almost everyday checking on Jonah and how she was doing this would have been the longest you have gone without talking to her .. it's okay to miss her.." Carlos said rubbing Tk's shoulder "and I can't imagine the pain your going through .." Carlos said "Carlos it's been a month and every time I look at our living room that's all I'm reminded of and I don't want that to be the case." Tk said "let's set these aside finish them tomorrow?" Carlos said " let's go lay down talk some more and you can't try to get some sleep okay ?" Carlos said hugging the younger man as he put his head close to his chest tk gave a slight nod " okay ." Carlos said placing kissing in his hair
