Chapter 1- Breaking of news

Mirae's POV

"Wake up sleepy head; you're almost late for work!" Mom yelled as she grabbed my blankets and yanked it away from me.

I groaned and sat up right on my bed before rubbing my eyes.

"Mom, it's a Saturday! I don't have to get up this early until 10am!" I whined and kicked my legs in any direction.

She laughed and placed my blankets neatly on my bed. "Quickly get up and wash up, we've important things to tell you."

I totally have a feeling that this wouldn't be good news. Like always, my parents would wake me up early in the morning on purpose to break a bad news and make me whine like a dead whale for the rest of the day.

There was once they woke me up at 7am just to tell me that we had to shift because dad got promoted and I've already made friends with most of my classmates and guess what day was it? THAT WAS THE FIRST DAY OF FREAKING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!

I secretly think that my parent loves seeing me in pain and torturing me, shaking my head.

I stood up from my bed and walked to my walk-in wardrobe to get a decent pair of clothes before walking into the bathroom for a quick shower.

"Come here, honey, we need to talk." Dad said.

I sighed and walked over to mom and sat right next to her. "Just tell me about it, I don't want to make a guess." I said grumpily.

"Then we'll be straight to you! Honey, you're getting married."

"I'M WHAT?!" I yelled as I stood up from the couch.

"You heard me, sweetie, you're getting married. No 'buts' or cancellation, this arrangement was made years ago, even before you were born." Dad went on.

I frowned. "Dad! What century are we in right now? Can't we just turn off the agreement?!"

"Sorry hun, you know grandpa." I stared hard at Dad before sighing heavily.

"How long more do I have before I'm getting married with this stranger that I've never met before?" I pouted, knowing that nothing will be changed even if I threaten to commit suicide.

"3 months but before that you're going on a date with that kid."

"And who is he?" I asked, not hoping for a guy who can cook fantastic dishes or a very macho guy but just a guy who knows how to make me feel happy or smile at times will do.

"It's one of your idols," mom chirped as I raised one of my eyebrows.

"My idol?"

Mom beamed. "Yes dear! You'll be very happy to know that you're going to be his wife!"

I chuckled. "Is it Taemin?!" Yeah, Taemin's like my top ultimate bias of ultimate bias, nobody can replace him.

Mom smiled as Dad chuckled. "Not him." I frowned.

"U-kwon?! But oppa have a girlfriend!" I yelled.

"Not him too, honey. It's Chanyeol, EXO-K's Chanyeol, the one you've been dying to ask your dad to bring you to one of his recordings just to meet him."

My jaws dropped, I felt like my world actually stopped spinning for a while and I stopped breathing for almost 10 good seconds.

"What did you just say?" I was just trying to make sure that I heard clearly from Mom that my fiancé is Chanyeol, EXO-K's Chanyeol, the one I've always been curious about.

"Yes love, you heard your Mom. It really is Chanyeol, dear."

I smiled. Chanyeol oppa, we're going to get close, right?

Chanyeol's POV

I felt a vibration coming beside me and I grab that object, wanting to slam down onto the floor but I realised what I'm holding onto is my phone.

I squinted my eyes as I looked at the screen showing a call coming in and it says "moms".

"Hello?" I sleepily answered.

"Chanyeol-ah, did you just got up?" Mom asked.

"Yeah Mom, what's wrong?" I could sense that she's troubled.

"It's nothing serious, actually. But..." I sighed as there was a long pause in between.

"But what, Mom?"

She still didn't respond after 5 good minutes. "Mom, if you don't speak up within ten seconds then I'm hanging up." I told.

I started counting. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7-

"YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED AND THAT'S AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE!" Mom blurted.

"WHAT?!"

"I'm sorry, son but this has been fixed."

I was fully awake by then. What crap was that? Arranged marriage? What century does she thinks we are in? 1980s?

"Come on, Mom. I know you need someone to hear your jokes out but this isn't the right time at all. I'm dead beat after yesterday's idol sports competition!" I groaned.

"Chanyeol, I'm not even kidding, this is the truth. Your grandfather had made an agreement of you marrying his best friend's granddaughter after the both of you turned legal and in a months' time, she'll be legal and soon it will be your wedding!" Mom spluttered.

Mom wasn't lying or even joking from the tone she's using right now. But... I just build my career up! I'm not going to let some stupid wedding arrangement screw things up!

"Mom! I'm not getting married!" I firmly told her.

"Son, you see, this is not a question or even a consideration. It has been fixed and confirmed, which means nothing can back out even if you go all MIA."

I sighed. "But what about my career?" I asked.

"As long as nobody says this out, you and your career will be fine. Plus, the lady you're getting married with is considered as a celebrity too. I don't think she wants her fans to get all upset and ruin her own career either."

"..."

"How long do I have?" I sighed and rubbed my temples.

"Three months. Within these three months, you'll have to go on dates with her to get closer. I'm not kidding Chanyeol, but if you dare to go on a strike, you'll lose everything and that includes your career." mom assured.

I gulped before nodding my head as if she could see. "Alright, Mom. I got to hang up now, Junmyeon hyung's coming in any time to wake me up and I don't want them to know this any sooner." I sighed before hanging the phone call.

I tossed my phone on the bed before crashing onto it too. "I've seen this on dramas but not on actual life, and now it's happening on me. Tsk, whatever Chanyeol! You can't let that woman bring you down!"

I groaned before getting up for breakfast.
