Chapter 17

Chapter 17 – Karma isn't a polite bitch

Nobody has expected that Lay would have gotten the evidences they wanted so much faster, nobody would have expected that Yoonhee would strike again when Chanyeol's not around, when EXO's not around.

The report that Lay got isn't only just proving that Yoonhee and Chanyeol did not have sex, but also, Yoonhee's medical reports.

They were shocked to find out that Yoonhee has a mental issue which is quite severe. Even so, how could she be crazy? However, they have no idea what had happened in between the split.

Not bothering how late it was in Seoul or how early it was in California, Chanyeol made a phone call back to Jae, asking her to take leaves and stay by Mirae's side for as long as she can until they collects more evidences to prove that Yoonhee is sick.

They knew something would have happen if nobody's around Mirae, they know Yoonhee would do something bad to Mirae if they don't take action. If Yoonhee had the idea of breaking them apart, she would also use many other cruel ways too.

But none of EXO thought Yoonhee would choose death for Mirae, to break them apart. Forever.

Unluckily, Jae arrived later that night, a step closer and she could save Mirae from that stab. She hurriedly grabbed one of the nurses' attentions and told her that Mirae has been stabbed. Jae then got back to the ward, worried and crying at the same time. The nurses and the doctor rushed into the ward.

"I'm sorry but you'll have to stay outside." One of the nurses told with a comforting smile and pushes her out of the ward.

Jae wanted to stay inside, to protect her from the pain Mirae's getting soon. She clearly knew what is next, but she prayed for that not to happen.

"Emergency surgery now." She heard the doctor say and he turned to Jae.

"You'll have to sign the form right now; she's in a critical state." Jae nodded immediately and went to get the form signed.

One hour had passed, but the light of the emergency room hasn't been switched off at all, neither did Jae or Mirae's parents eyes got off the door. Jae had texted Chanyeol about Mirae getting stabbed on the stomach but had no idea who did that. Why would Mirae do that when she was so happy when Jae informed her about going over to California for a month to visit the boys after Mirae had recovered?

Jae woke up from daydreaming and turned to Mr. Kim. "Mr. Kim, I would like to go back to the ward to look around. There must be something we've missed." She told.

Mr. Kim agreed and told her to inform him after she has found anything.

Jae got back to the ward, standing at the door side, thinking where she should start first. She then decided to start from the bed side. She was looking around, searching for things with a pair of gloves on her hands, just like how the polices do in the dramas.

Beforehand, she'd asked for one of the doctor's help, to help her to do a check to see whose DNA those things she found belong to. Of cause, the doctor agreed and told her he'll do everything for her since Mirae is one of the patients he really sees her as his daughter.

Jae then found a strand of hair on the floor. She frowned and picked up the hair. "It could be Mirae's, it could be others but the color doesn't fit Mirae's current hair color." She sighed and places them into one of the bags the doctor gave.

She continued looking around, finally seeing a penknife below the bed. She smirked and got it out.

"Very careless of you to not discard the evidence away." She sang as she zipped the bag up.

The search stopped after she'd found a few things – A penknife, the strand of hair, the fabric of a shirt which doesn't belongs to the hospital. She smiled at what she found, clearly satisfied that she done something useful and to clear a part of the mystery. As she walks out, there's a card behind the door. She picks it up and takes a look at it. Her eyes narrowed as she reads the name on the card – Lee. Yoon. Hee.

Without knowing, her fist clenched and she rushed out of the room. First, she has to pass the things she found to the doctor. Then she has to look for that daughter of a dog she always has no tolerance for. She also texted Chanyeol to inform him that she'll find out who the hell that culprit is. She then called Mr. Kim to let him know that she left but call her once Mirae is out from the surgery. She hailed a cab and told the driver the address printed on the name card. Jae is mad. And when Jae is mad, nobody messes with her.

She stomped right into the building after she alighted the cab, not caring the screams from the desk admin. The main motive for her to come here isn't an appointment with the CEO of the modeling company, but an unexpected visit to Lee Yoonhee.

She walked into the room that has Lee Yoonhee stamped on the door, completely shocking Lee Yoonhee as if she has done something wrong and feeling guilty.

Lee Yoonhee's face changed so fast that it is as if there's nothing happened.

"May I help you, Jaehee?" She smiled devilishly.

Jae hovered towards her, not a hint of happiness in her eyes, staring at her as if she wants Lee Yoonhee dead.

She hissed dangerously, "What the fuck are you doing there, in Mae's ward yesterday?"

Lee Yoonhee chuckled. "I was just paying my old classmate a visit because I heard that she's hospitalized. What's wrong with that?"

Just then, Jae got a call from the doctor. "There's a lady who visited Mirae yesterday night, she's also the same lady who stabbed Mae on the stomach. I've checked the sign-in list, and her name's Lee Yoonhee." He confirmed and Jae smirked.

"And I'm sure you know what to do, right Mr. Yoon? I'm a bit busy right now, you see." The doctor hanged the call right after he said he would call for the police to arrest her right now at her office. Jae chucked her phone back into her pocket and looked at Yoonhee.

"What else do you have to say? I'll give you a chance right now." Jae urged her to continue.

"Nothing. There's nothing more for me to say." Yoonhee retorted.

"Then explain why are you captured by the CCTV that you're the one who stabbed Mirae on the stomach?"

After Jae finished her words, the doors of the room were pushed open and there stands a few policemen. "Lee Yoonhee, you're under arrest now for being a suspect of an assaulting case."

The color from Lee Yoonhee's face drained. She didn't expect anyone to know that it was her who stabbed Mirae on the stomach, and most of all, she didn't expect that the CCTV in the room was in use. Last but not least, she didn't expect what Mirae told her few years back was true – "What comes around, goes around. Karma isn't a polite bitch."
