Chapter 13 – Last

Chanyeol paced around the house, getting more worried as Mirae didn't pick up her phone despite the spams of calls he had made.

"AISH. Where did she go?! Why isn't she picking up her phone?!" He groaned in frustration, messing his hair.

He then decided to go over to her house to look for her. On the way there, he called Jae.

"Jae, is Mirae home?" He asked, frowning.

"No she hasn't, why are you asking?"

His grip on the steering wheel tightens.

"She didn't pick up my calls; I've been trying to contact her since 8.30pm and it's 10 now, could you walk around your neighbourhood to look for her? I'm only going to get there at 11, there's a traffic jam here."

"Sure, I'll contact you as soon as I've news." She said.

Chanyeol thanked her and hang the call up. He prayed for Mirae's safety. If she's hurt, he wouldn't know what he'll do.

Chanyeol managed to get there before 11 and received a phone call when he's in front of Mirae's house from Jae.

"Oppa, I think you need to come to the hospital." She mumbled in between cries.

"What?" Chanyeol said in disbelief. "Why are you in the hospital?" He raised his voice slightly, frowning.

"There's no time to explain, hurry. I'm at Seoul Hospital."

He ran back into his car and rushed there, not knowing why but he has a bad feeling that it's regarding to Mirae.

"What happened?" He questioned Jae who was crying nonstop and kneeling down outside of the operation room.

"Mirae, accident." She managed to croak these two words out.

Chanyeol was shocked. Accident? But how? Mirae was never clumsy, she never walks on the road, and she hated it the most.

He clenched his fist and hissed harshly, "Did they find the driver already?"

Jae shook her head, still crying. "They say they are still looking for more clues." She croaked.

Chanyeol sighed and sat beside Jae. "Calm down, she'll be fine. She's a strong girl; she'll be fine no matter what." He said, staring at the door of the operation room, absolutely more than just plain worried.

'Don't let me know who you are, or I'll not let you go that easily.' Chanyeol thought.

After hours of waiting, the light of the operation room has been switched off. Chanyeol woke Jae up and the both of them rushed to the doctor's side.

"Are you her family members?" He asked, the both of them nodded.

He smiled weakly and told them, "I'm sorry but she's in a coma now. We've tried our very best. If by the end of this week she isn't awake, then I'm afraid she won't wake up anymore." He patted on Chanyeol's shoulder and gave a small sad smile before leaving.

The nurse came out and asks one of them to get the registration form done. Jae volunteered and asked Chanyeol to go up to Mirae's ward. Chanyeol nodded with not much strength and went up to her room.

He opened the door and smiled at the lady lying on the bed.

"Hi sweetie," He muttered with a smile.

"Do you feel better now?" He asked, settling down beside her. "But I'm not feeling well without you talking to me, being a nuisance beside me right now. Not at all." He muttered.

"Wake up soon, I need you. I need you to be awake, to annoy me with your endless aegyos and nonsense." He whispered, having tears falling from his beautiful pair of eyes. "Okay? Wake up soon, I love you." He told, kissing the back of her hand.

He caresses Mirae's face, leaning in to peak on her lips. He smiled and whispered, "You've no idea how much you mean to me now."

Just then, Jae came in. "Do you want to grab something to munch on? It's almost morning now." She asked, with a weak smile on.

Both of them are equally tired, upset and hopeless. But for Mirae, the both of them are still staying strong. Well, at least trying to.

Chanyeol shook his head.

"I'm not hungry, how about you? Don't you have classes now?" He asked, knowing that Jae have classes as she recently enrolled herself into a design school.

She shook her head with a smile. "I don't think I'll focus even if I went." Chanyeol chuckled.

"Then at least go home and have a sleep, I'll be here until you're awake. We'll take turns to take care of her if you want, even though I can manage all by myself." He told Jae.

Jae refused to allow him to deal with taking care of Mirae when he already has other stuffs to be taken care of.

"I'll come by tonight, I promise. So you can go back to have a rest and practice as well." She smiled and waved goodbye to Chanyeol.

Chanyeol smiled and lay back onto the chair. After a few seconds of silence, his phone rang. He frowned at the familiar number he used to remember them clearly without having to take out his phone to check his contacts.

"Hello?" He answered, still frowning.

"It's been awhile, how are you?" she questioned.

"I'm fine. Why did you call?"

That lady chuckled.

"Don't you miss me? How could you be so fierce to me right now, Chanyeol ah? You used to love receiving calls from noona." She chuckled.

Chanyeol sighed and responded, "Like what you've said, used to. Come straight to the point, why are you even calling, Lee Yoonhee?"

That lady he used to love without condition, with all his might. The lady who was his first love, the lady who he first brought home to have his parents approved their relationship, the lady who also broke his heart.

"Aigo, Yeollie. You shouldn't be so rude to noona. How about a meal, for breakfast? Noona's treat."

Chanyeol flinched.

'Noona? Noona my ass, she doesn't have the privilege of me calling her noona anymore.' He thought.

"The address." He says.

Yoonhee smiled. "The old place we used to have breakfast at. I'll be waiting, yeollie ah." She hanged the phone call.

"Just this once, Lee Yoonhee. This will be the last meeting for us." He said, getting up from his seat before kissing Mirae on the forehead and left.

Yoonhee laughed. "Now that she's gone forever, it's my turn to have you back by my side, Park Chanyeol."
