Chapter 12

Chapter 12 – Plot twist

"Whoa. I didn't expect you to wake up this early for work." Jae said, shocked that Mirae's already woken up.

Mirae shook her head.

"I'm not going to work." She said. Jae walked towards her and placed her hand onto Mirae's forehead.

"Mae, you're not having a fever, do you feel sick?" She asked, worried.

Mirae shook her head. "I'm fine. I just need more sleep." She mumbled.

Jae sighed and shook her head. "Trust him, he wouldn't do that. Get some sleep, I'm going to cook you some porridge. Or do you want soup instead?"

Mirae smiled weakly at her best friend and replied, "It's ok, I'm fine. You've work, so hurry and don't be late."

Jae raised an eyebrow.

"I'm really fine. It's not like I would do anything silly right?"

Jae had no choice but to leave her best friend alone. 'Yeah, you really need some sleep.' She thought and sighed, looking back at Mirae's door.

Just like this, Mirae went back to sleep and Jaehee went to work with a heavy heart.

Mirae got up and decided she needed a walk at the park otherwise she's going to overthink. She walked around the park, enjoying the nature and breathing in fresh air.

She smiled as she sees the kids playing around, having fun together with no stress or problems to think of. She wanted to be like them, just playing freely and have no worries to worry about.

"Noona, can I have the ball back?" a kid asked, pointing to the ball that just rolled over to Mirae.

She smiled and handed the ball back to him.

"Noona, you look like you're troubled." He said. Mirae shook her head and smiled.

"Noona's fine. Hurry, your friend's waiting for you."

The kid came over to her and tip toed, planting a kiss on her cheek. "Noona, I hope that this kiss would make you feel better." He smiled and ran away. Mirae laughed and shook her head.

"That did made me felt better, even when it's a little."

She smiled again and walked away from the scene, heading towards an ice cream parlour to get her one. She thanked the staff and walked out of the shop.

"Mirae ah," she turned back to face the owner of that voice. She was shocked.

"Oh, Suho oppa." Suho smiled. "Can we have a talk?" She nodded, knowing what Suho's planning to say.

They settled down at one of the tables in the shop. "You look tired." Suho started.

Mirae just laughed awkwardly. "And you too, oppa. Is practice tough these few days?" She questioned and Suho nodded.

"It's tougher for Chanyeol."

Mirae sighed.

"Oppa, if you're going to talk about Chanyeol then I'm leaving."

"You know that Chanyeol wouldn't do such things, Mae. He knows better than to hurt someone he loves so much, someone whom he managed to trust after what happened few years back." Suho commented.

"I know he wouldn't do such things, but that's after all his ex-girlfriend, his first love, oppa. Even if it was me, I would have done the same thing too." She said, trying to blink the tears in her eyes away.

"I know. But don't you trust him?" Suho asked and Mirae nodded.

"Of cause I do. I just need some time, oppa. I need some time alone. Everything's not working out for me now. I need a break from this; I need to learn to trust him even more." She said, standing up. "I'm going now, oppa. I'm starting to feel unwell." She muttered.

"Are you ok? Do you need me to send you home, or bring you to the clinic?" Suho asked in concern, getting up from his seat.

Mirae smiled weakly and shook her head. "It's okay. I'm going home now." She bid goodbye and left.

She plugged in her earpieces and turn on the music as loud as possible, not caring whether other people could listen what she's listening to. Music is the only escape she has. Without music, she would have been even pain.

She was so immersed in her songs and thinking too much that she didn't know there's a bicycle coming behind of her. The owner of the bicycle had shouted for her to move away but she didn't. The bicycle's owner has no choice but to come down the bicycle and pushed it.

"Crazy bitch, didn't you hear me shouting at you?!" He yelled, pissed off.

He then realized that Mirae was having her earpieces on. He laughed in disbelieved and cycled away when he overtake Mirae.

Mirae got shocked when she saw the owner and the bicycle in front of her. She quickly took off her earpiece and apologized to him.

"I'm sorry, sorry."

But he was already so far away from her. She sighed and plugged the ear piece back into her ears.

She walked into the dark alley where it links to her house, totally not afraid of what could appear around her. She was too sad to even realize that there were a few gangsters around that area, calling for her to be friends with her. The few gangsters just snorted when she didn't give response.

Soon, she was reaching her house. Another small dark road and she'll reach her house.

But then, she never arrived home.

She turned on the music so loudly that she didn't hear there was a car behind her, speeding actually. The driver smirked and banged her fast and merciless.

She laid there, on the floor, bleeding and struggling. The driver got down the car and walked towards her. Mirae's earpiece fell off her ears, her phone too dropped out of her pocket. A person was calling her, Chanyeol. She wanted to slide it to tell him to save her. But the driver kicked her phone away.

Mirae had a battle with her eyes. She wanted to keep her eyes open, but her eyes wouldn't let her do that. The driver who banged her just laughed and bent down to meet eyes with her. She laughed again.

"Didn't I tell you to leave him alone?" She laughed. "Now that you're dead, I can have him back my side and be with him forever." Yoonhee laughed crazily.

"Good bye, Kim Mirae."

She kicked Mirae on the stomach and drove off without calling an ambulance, leaving Mirae bleed to death there on the road, with Chanyeol calling her at the fifth time continuously.
