Taismo: Cosmo's change

chapter 2

The day after Tails woke up, he immediately rotated himself, in order to look Cosmo.
Once he tried to hug her, he missed her, that brought him back to what happened that night, he remembered that he wasn't sleeping next to her.

He took his time to wake up, then he reached the kitchen saying: "Good morning Cos..." But Cosmo wasn't there either.
Tails said to himself: "Maybe she's still sleeping... I'll make breakfast."

So he started preparing pancakes for both him and Cosmo, once they were ready he ate his breakfast.
But there was still no sign of Cosmo, he started getting worried and decided to bring her the breakfast.

He took a plate of pancakes and reached for their bedroom, he knocked the door and said: "Hello Cosmo, I have your breakfast."
Tails expected her to open the door soon, but the door was still closed, he tried to open it and it was still locked, Tails started getting really worried.

He slowly placed his ear on the door, and he could hear Cosmo crying and sobbing.
Tails said: "Cosmo, can you open the door?"

Still no answers, he said: "Please Cosmo, open, I can hear you."
Cosmo: "*sniff* Please, just leave me alone."
Tails: "Come on Cosmo, you need to have breakfast, you'll feel better for sure after that."

Cosmo didn't answer and kept crying, Tails was extremely worried for her, he thought that some free time could help her.
He decided to leave her alone in their house for a bit, and said: "Cosmo, I'm leaving for a walk until lunch time, I'll leave your pancakes in the kitchen, please, eat something... bye"

Tails left his house, leaving Cosmo alone at home.
He tried to shook everything from his mind, but he couldn't forget about Cosmo.

His random walking, brought him on a hill, where Sonic was lying there alone.
Tails was wondering why Sonic wasn't there with Amy, that sounded strange to him, however, he simply got next to him and said

Tails: "Hey Sonic."
Sonic: "Hi Tails, how are you?"
Tails: "I'm good, but I'm worried too."
Sonic: "What about?"
Tails: "I'd wish to know that."
Sonic: "What happened?"
Tails: "I have no idea, Cosmo locked herself in our room and said she wanted to be alone."
Sonic: "Do you think she's got a problem?"
Tails: "Probably, but she told me nothing... I'd wish to help, but I don't know anything at all."
Sonic: "Oh... I hope it's nothing."

Tails: "And what about you, how are you?"
Sonic: "Bad question Tails... it's not OK at all."
Tails: "What happened?"

Sonic didn't want to say his problem to Tails, because he was feeling weird to talk about that, but eventually he did.

Tails understood his problem immediately, Sonic could have a child and he didn't want to, the point is that Amy did it on purpose without speaking about it with Sonic.

Sonic tried to explain his thoughts to Tails, But he understood perfectly his thoughts even before Sonic could do that.

Tails had a jump on his past and said: "I remember of a really sad fox... well, sad for different reasons... he ended up on having a baby, more precisely a daughter and he didn't want her at all."
Sonic looked at him, understanding that he was talking about himself, he looked Tails directly listening everything he was saying.
Tails continued: "His friends tried to take care of her, but only this sad fox could do that... he refused and left his daughter out of his house, but that night something changed inside him."

Sonic got enough to hearing Tails talking like this, so he said: "Please, get to the point."
Tails smiled to him and said: "Sherry became the most important thing in my life..." then he dropped a tear and said: "...I still miss her so much..."
Tails got close to cry too, Sonic hugged him and, like it already happened, Tails felt worse and cried, but he could vent off all the sadness inside him.

Tails: "Thanks Sonic."
Sonic: "Please, end."
Tails: "...*sniff* Now I'm still asking myself... who's more important to me? Cosmo or Sherry? I hope I'll never have to make a choice."
Sonic was so surprised to hear that, until that moment he never understood how much Tails was missing Sherry.

Tails ended: "The point is... I know, you didn't want a baby, like me at that time... but believe me, being a father is one of the best things that happened to me."
Sonic: "What do you think I should do Tails?"
Tails: "Just go back home... do you want to see Amy suffering?"
Sonic: "WHAT? NO, NO WAY AT ALL!"
Tails: "Then go help her (because she was crying on the sofa after that Sonic left her) ... maybe you're not going to be a father and all this fight, frustration and angryness had no sense at all."

Sonic admitted he was right, then Tails ended: "...And believe me, if you will be a father, when the baby will born, if you'll welcome him, or her, in your life, once you'll have your child in your arms, you'll thank Amy for what she did."
Sonic listened to him with tearing eyes, then he asked: "Are you sure Tails?"
Tails: "Never been more sure in my life Sonic..."

Sonic hugged him immediately and cried really hard, Tails hugged him back helping him, when Sonic finally felt good once again, he took a deep breath and said: "Thanks Tails, you're such a friend... a brother..."
Tails smiled and said: "No problem Sonic... now go."
Sonic nodded and got up, then he ran back home the fastest he could.

Tails felt great for helping him, but when he left he got back to his problem, he wanted to rush home and help Cosmo like he said to do to Sonic, but he had no idea what was her problem.

Tails said: "If I want to help her, I'll leave her home until lunchtime like I said."

But he couldn't shook his problem to his head, and if he did, he got back to the other problem that's tormenting him for a long time: Sherry.

He stood on that tree for an hour, trying to feel better, eventually he managed to.
Tails got up and headed away thinking: "What can I do now? I need to have some fun... I can..."

Tails sighed quite hard and falled back, having no idea on what to do.
After a long time he got bored and said: "Well, I won't do anything if I keep myself here."

He got up and started walking in the city, having no idea on what to do and searching for something great.
Sadly, nothing could bring him away from his problems, so he decided to give up and said: "I'm not going to enjoy anything if I keep fighting back my feelings."

Tails decided to help Cosmo, so he started thinking what he could do to make her feel better.
He had no idea about what her problem was, but he could still search a way to make her smile, he decided to walk around the city and find something that could make her smile.
