Taismo: Cosmo's change

Chapter 6

Sonic and Amy just restarted their day, this time in the correct way.
Amy was hugging Sonic really tight saying: "Thank you Sonic, thank you so much."
Sonic hugged her back and said: "You're welcome Amy."

After a long while they could leave the bed once again, they felt a bit hungry, so Sonic asked: "What's the time?"
They looked at the clock and it was 1:00 PM, He said: "It's past lunch time and we didn't eat, I'm hungry."
Amy: "Yeah, me too... I want to repay for what you've done for me Sonic." and left going to the kitchen
Sonic: "Thanks Amy." and followed her, he didn't try to help her cooking, instead he prepared the dining room

Amy made many chili dogs pizza for Sonic and another pizza for herself.
Once she brought them in the dining room, Sonic opened dropped his jaw and started drolling.

Amy took that like a great compliment and, after placing the pizzas on the table, she closed Sonic's mouth and said: "Thanks Sonic, I take that as a compliment."
Sonic hugged her tight and said: "YOU'RE THE GREATEST IN THE UNIVERSE AMY!"
Amy hugged him back, but broke it quite fast saying: "They'll get cold Sonic... please, eat."
Sonic sat down and gave all his effort to don't destroy that pizza, he managed to stay calm and cut it in slices before eating it.

Sonic loved that pizza, and seeing him eating it was the greatest satisfaction Amy could have.
They ended the pizzas and fell back on the chair, full and satisfied by that meal.

Sonic wanted to repay Amy for that, so he offered: "Amy, Would you like to have a great day today? Just you and me?"
Amy: "Sure Sonic, I'd love that."

So they prepared themselves, Sonic noticed that outside it was quite cold, so he wore a heavy jacket and suggested Amy to do the same.
They left and headed outside, it was even colder than how they expected.

Sonic said: "I thought that yesterday was one of the coldest day of the year, today is even colder."
Amy: "Yeah... I guess Tails was wrong."
Sonic: "Well, it's only a legend Amy, there's always a whit of truth, but it's never like they say."
Amy: "You're right, we shouldn't bother him about that."
Sonic: "Now that I'm thinking about, we should go meet him and thank him for what he did for us"
Amy: "I agree, he's our best friend, we have to show him our gratitude for these wonderful years. Without him, nothing would have been possible."

They both agreed to meet Tails and thank him, so they headed for him before starting their great date.

Once they got to his house, they thought everything was wrong, Sonic: "Where's Tails' house?"
Amy: "I have no idea, it was there... WAIT A MOMENT, WHO'S THERE LYING ON THE GROUND?"
Sonic just noticed someone lying on the ground, he got worried and headed there immediately.

Sonic and Amy: "TAILS!"
Tails was there crying, without caring about anything at all.
Sonic took him up and asked worried: "What happened buddy?"
Tails could only cry, the only thing he could say was: "Cosmo" and pointed to the ground.

Sonic and Amy asked for more, but Tails wasn't answering, after a while Amy panicked and asked: "WAIT... Do you mean that Cosmo... she's..."
Tails got free by Sonic's hold and fell on the ground again, crying hard, that was enough as explaining for both Amy and Sonic.

They tried to comfort him, but nothing could help him.
Sonic took Tails up with all the effort he had and Amy helped him, they understood his thought, but he couldn't stay there, it was only going to hurt him more and more.
They brought him far away from there and Sonic took off his jacket to give it to Tails, he couldn't stay like that, it was too cold.

They tried to bring him inside, but he had no intention to go somewhere inside, it felt like leaving Cosmo forever, so they stopped next to a tree.
Tails sat down and they did the same next to him, giving him all the affection they could, but nothing could help him.

After a long time, Tails managed to start speaking, he said: "Amy... Sonic... I..."
Amy and Sonic were listening carefully to him, sadly, they didn't have the chance to hear.
Eggman arrived laughing really loud with a big weapon, which landed quite far away from them.
Sonic said immediately: "Something's wrong, that machine didn't make any noise or vibration once it landed, even if it was really, really big.

Eggman: "Now's my time to take my revenge on you Tails... this is for making fun of me... that machine is aiming for you, IT WILL DESTROY YOU IN A SHOT, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!"

Sonic yelled: "It's NOT said the last word Eggman!"
Both Amy and Sonic runned at Sonic's speed to that weapon and destroy it before it was too late.
Once they arrived and they attacked that machine, they discovered they just got fooled, it was an hologram, probably meant to detach Sonic and Amy from Tails, and Eggman succeeded on that.

Eggman: "Like I said, THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP ME! TAILS SEARCHING MISSILES, ATTACK!"
And they felt some big noises while the ground was trembling, Sonic and Amy looked around and noticed that some missiles just got fired and they were heading for Tails.

Sonic: "NO! GET AWAY FROM THERE TAILS!" and both of them started running to save him... but they were too far away, they couldn't get there in time.
The missiles successfully reached their target, Tails didn't even try to evade them, instead, he closed his eyes and said with a smile: "I'll rejoin you soon, my love." thinking to Cosmo.

Sonic and Amy looked at the explosions from a long distance, Sonic yelled: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he tried to go closer and reach his friend, but he tripped and fell down in tears.
Amy saw everything too, she stopped next to Sonic and fell on her knees, crying.
Sonic yelled: "Before Cosmo, now you too... THIS CANNOT BE TRUE!"
Amy yelled too: "Our greatest friends just died... THIS IS A NIGHTMARE, I WANT TO WAKE UP NOW!"
