The Willows

Throughout the dinner Summer tried to pick up on some of the girl's habits in hopes that it might help her with befriending the girl. Summer is an introvert and often prefers to be on her own rather than seeking out friends, friends normally come to her.

The red-haired girl seemed to be the exact opposite of Summer. She was pretty, her olive green eyes shining against her vibrant fiery hair. She looked strong, but she had a kind heart. Her eyes looked nervously around the room but avoided eye contact with anyone except her father.

'Not good qualities for an Alpha', Autumn told Summer through their mind link. They both were critically analyzing the girl while she sat and ate her supper. 'I hope she has a brother for Alpha.'

Summer hummed in agreement to Autumn's statement but stopped short when she related to it. 'How would you feel if that is what people feel when they look at me?', Summer asked through the mind link.

'She's not like us. We're different.'

'No we're not! We are now but we weren't before Autumn. We were weak before and yes we're stronger now, but that doesn't change the fact that she is capable of change too. I bet many people thought that when they looked at me and that might be the very reason why Tyler is the one running for Alpha right now - because they think we're too weak. Don't ever doubt her,' Summer warned to which Autumn had no response. Despite it being through mind link, her voice held authority. People often heard of an Alpha with an authoritative voice ordering around pack members, but you never heard of a girl, whose not even an Alpha, using an authoritative voice to order her wolf. It's never been heard of and neither Summer or Autumn paid bade to it.

Focusing back on the girl - Luna of the Luna Moon pack, also known as Summer's mother, began her plan of action.

"So I'm sure you've seen each other now, why not spend some time together? Summer, Natalie."

"Kimberly, I am sure the girls have the rest of the night to get to know each other. Why don't we just enjoy dessert now?", Eric, Summer's father, commented. He knew that he wanted his daughter to befriend the girl, but his wife made it sometimes too obvious.

"Actually, Natalie has been asking about the library you guys have. Perhaps you could show her Summer?", the Alpha of the Willow pack, William, asked Summer who sat idly waiting.

"Sure. I wasn't feeling dessert anyway," Summer responded, as she kicked her chair back in a not-so-subtle manner. Tyler groaned at the screech and Summer fought back a smile. She finally had gotten some sort of response out of him since that day.

Summer walked out of the dining hall, hands tucked into her side pockets and back straight, not caring if Natalie, the redhead, was following her or not. She looked back when she reached the top of the stairs just to make sure she was behind her and when she saw that she was, she continued on.

"This is the library that you're dad says you're interested in," Summer said as she gestured to the door to her left.

Natalie shifted uncomfortably as she looked at the door. "Are we allowed to go inside?"

"Yes, you may," Summer responded as she pushed the redhead in front of the door. "Turn the handle and go inside. The books won't bite."
