**Caleb’s POV**
I stared at the bump on my mate, frantically searching for an explanation. "Did- did he bite you?"
I asked.
"Yes," she whispered, knowing whom I meant.
"When?"
"While he was," she glanced at the doctor then back to me, "while he was raping me."
"Damn-it!" I yelled. "He mated her." But her couldn’t have mated her. She was mine… MINE! "I’ll kill him! I swear I will."
I saw tears fill my mate’s eyes.
"Tyler, you have to calm down. Your mate needs to right now –" Dr. Bayne said.
"She’s not my mate!" I yelled slamming the door and closing my mind off from Akela.
**Akela’s POV**
I froze when Caleb said that I wasn’t his mate. Out of everything that had happened to me, this seemed to be the worst.
"Akela, he didn’t mean it. He was just mad that another male claimed you before he could. Of course you’re still his mate. He just needs to calm down. Now, I need to get an ultrasound. Greg!" As the doctor was talking, he pulled the sheet up to cover the exposed part of my lower body and then called in Greg, his assistant.
"Greg, can you go get the ultrasound machine?" Greg glanced at me in confusion and then left the room.
"Why do I need an ultrasound?" I asked.
"I’ll tell you when I’m done." We waited in silence until Greg cam back with the ultrasound machine on a rattling rolling cart. Greg helped Dr. Bayne to set up the machine, and then the doctor shooed him back out. He lowered the sheet again until it hung low on my hips, barring my whole stomach to him. He squeezed some cold gel out of a tube and rubbed it until a thin layer covered all my exposed skin. He then rubbed something across my belly that was attached to the ultrasound machine by a long cord.
I watched the doctor’s face as he looked at the screen. Suddenly, it screwed up in a sad and angry expression. "I’m sorry, but you’re pregnant."
"I’m not pregnant," I yelled, sitting up. The doctor gently pushed me back down just as the door flew open and Caleb stormed in.
"She can’t be pregnant," he said.
"I’m sorry, but she is. She looks to be about ten weeks along" the doctor replied, turning the screen toward us. He rubbed the cold metal across my skin again until the image of a tiny baby filled the screen.
‘Oh my God, I’m pregnant."
**Caleb’s POV**
"It’s okay, werewolves can have abortions," I told her. Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say because she quickly sat up and moved away from me, crossing her hands over her stomach.
"I can’t have an abortion!" she yelled "That’s murder!"
"It’s your uncle’s baby—"
"I still can’t kill him!"
"What are you going to do, have the baby and then give it away?"
"No, Bardolph said that the kid would be the strongest person alive. I can’t give it away to someone else!"
"But I’m too young to be a father!"
"Why said you have to be a father?"
"Your baby is my baby. If you decide to keep it, I would be the father."
"What would make you the father? I never had sex with you before I was – kidnapped."
"Of course I’d be the father! You’re my mate!"
"You just said that I wasn’t your mate before storming out of the room and leaving me alone!"
"I was mad, okay. I was mad that you got kidnapped, that you were rapped, and that another guy, your uncle even, mated with you before I did. He wouldn’t have been able to get to you if I had just claimed you!"
"I recall me being the one who wanted to wait. If anything, it’s my fault."
My father entered the room sometime while we were arguing and watch our fight. His head moved back and forth to look at the person talking. He interrupted us when Akela said that it was her fault. "It was nobody’s fault. If anything, it was your uncle’s fault, but I don’t think anything could have stopped it from happening. You said yourself that your premonitions always come true. What would have made this one any different? The only think we can do now is kill Bardolph. We’ll have to take a group of wolves with us for a fight between the packs. Are you coming, Akela?"
"Of course she’s not coming," I said. "She’ll get hurt—"
"Yes, I’ll come," Akela interrupted. "I’m the only one who would be able to get close enough to kill him."
"What? She can’t co—"
"It’s settled then. We leave in a week," Connor said and then left the room with me staring shock after him. He completely ignored me.
"I forbid you to come with us. You might get hurt. You might hurt the baby. I want to kill the Bastard who raped you. I can’t let you go near him again."
"You called him a baby. You’ll let me keep him then?" Akela said ignoring my other comments.
I sighed, "Only because you want to."
"Good. I’m hungry. What’s for dinner?"
