Dimitri
It's not very often that I lose focus. But given the situation I think I'm excused in the matter. People tend to compliment me on my ability to stay calm and collected in everything I do.
I accepted them without gloating and without bragging. There's never been a moment where I felt like doing things on my own wasn't enough. I was good alone. I worked clean and efficient alone.
'Dimitri,' I turn around, and smile genuinely.
'You'd think I'm getting better at doing this, doing this alone.' Lissa smiles and holds out her arms to craddle my son.
She frowns and opens her mouth ready to say something, already knowing her words I cut her off. 'any news?'
Her smile drops slowly and a disappointed pout appears.
'It's Rose , Dimitri she's the toughest of us all. And nothing is going to stop her from getting back to the three of you.'
Two guards walk in, their eyes on Lissa while also looking for anything out of place. One of them sneaks a look at me, a soft look escapes as he sighs and looks away. I know why, I have what he'll never have unless he finds himself a lovely moroi girl. Within our work it's hard to even try and fall in love with a fellow guardian, it was normal during training, as novices things are much less strict but the moment you graduate from that, is the moment you realise that this is your life now.
Roza and me sure did stir things up.
'Alexei, sleep little one,' I mutter, slowly rocking him in my arms.
Lissa looks into my eyes and shakes her head in amusement. 'Go get some sleep, Dimitri.'
Not moving an inch, I realise that she's serious. 'I'm doing okay, it's fine.'
'No it's not fine!' she snaps mockingly. 'get to your bedroom and don't come out until you've had atleast 10 hours of sleep-'
I'm about to argue when Christian walks in, carrying cuddle toys. He grins knowingly as I frown. 'Could you both please escort Dimitri to his room, make sure he gets some rest.' Lissa says, raising her hand to the two guardians.
I stiffen and take a step back, pulling Alexei into my chest even more.
'It's okay. Lissa and I will make sure they are very well entertained,' Christian smirks making a flame appear on his hand. My breathing quickens and I pull the guardians hands of my shoulders. 'Ozera, I suggest you keep that particular talent of yours well hidden in front of my children, is that clear?'
Christian gulps as I say this and receives an annoyed look from his girlfriend.
'They are save with us, Dimitri. The next search party is in two days. Rose needs you to be in good shape,'
I look around the room, knowing I could easily take them on and leave with the twins. But seeing as Alisa is still sleeping peacefully and Alexei is now craddled to Lissa's chest I falter. 'Maybe a few hours,'
Lissa smiles softly. 'Just a few hours,' she agrees.
