Snowpaw, Windpaw, Stormpaw, and Oakpaw were hanging out outside of the apprentice's den. "Windpaw can i talk to you privately for a heartbeat?" Snowpaw asked. Windpaw nodded and the two of them walked inside the den. "Should i tell Stormpaw and Oakpaw about the prophecy?" Snowpaw asked. Windpaw shook her head. "Maybe we should wait till we know what it means" Windpaw replied. Snowpaw noded. They walked out of the den.

"What was that about?" Oakpaw asked. "Nothing important" Snowpaw mewed. "Ok then, do you know who's going to the gathering tonight?" Stormpaw asked. "Nope, now that you mention it, i dont think Leafstar has decided yet" Snowpaw meowed. "It would be so cool if it was us!" Windpaw yowled. She was practically jumping up and down.

Greenfeather walked up to the group of apprentices. "Stormpaw and Snowpaw, you'll be going to the gathering tonight with your mentors" She mewed. Stormpaw was shocked. Snowpaw was too. "We get to go to the gathering!" The two of them mewed in unision. They jumped up and down in joy. Greenfeather laughed and walked away.

~Time Skip~ ~Midnight~

"It's time to go to the gathering!" Leafstar yowled loud enough for the entire clan to hear. Moonglade, Birchpaw, Orangetail, Stormpaw, Shadowclaw, Snowpaw, and Greenfeather padded to the entrance of the clan. The eight of them walked out of the camp. Soon they were at Fourtrees. Sunclan and Waterclan were already there. "I'm gonna go make some friends" Birchpaw said, smiling. She walked over to the group of apprentices.

Stormpaw and Snowpaw found a spot to sit. "What were you and Windpaw talking about earlier?" Stormpaw asked. "Oh it was nothing" Snowpaw mewed. Stormpaw looked at her with an i-know-you're-lying expression. "I'm serious!" Snowpaw said, laughing. Stormpaw playfully pushed Snowpaw and she fell to the ground. The two of them laughed. When Snowpaw got up a patch of snow appeared where she had falled.

Stormpaw looked at the snow. "That's weird" He mumbled. "What?" Snowpaw asked. He pointed to the snow with his tail. "Wha? But that wasnt there when i fell..." Snowpaw mumbled.

Suddenly Nightclan showed up. Except they had a new leader. The four leaders took their place. "Where is Nightstar?" Leafstar asked. The new leader was very small. He was a tom and had a black pelt. "Ash...?" Snowpaw mumbled. "What was that?" Stormpaw asked. "Nothing" Snowpaw replied.

"Nightstar died. I am the new leader" The tom spoke. "But you're just an apprentice!" Dawnstar yelled. Crowstar said nothing. "I am an appreantice, but Clawface has also died. Starclan chose me to be leader" The apprentice yowled. "If starclan says so" Leafstar mumbled. "What's your name?" Dawnstar asked. "Blackstar" The new leader replied.

"Blackstar, yesterday I sent out a dawn patrol and my warriors scented a mysterious fire coming from your clan. Was anyone hurt?" Leafstar asked. "I have no idea what you're talking about-" Blackstar replied. "-There was no fire" "Are you sure?" Leafstar mewed. Blackstar nodded.

Goldpaw walked up to Stormpaw and Snowpaw. "Hey guys!" She mewed, ina cheerful mood. "Hi Goldpaw" Snowpaw replied. "Who's this?" Stormpaw whispered. "This is Goldpaw" Snowpaw whispered back. They tuned out what the leaders were saying, nothing much was happening anyway. "So you're the one who saved Snowpaw?" Stormpaw asked. Goldpaw nodded. "Yea, I'm the deputy here at Nightclan" Goldpaw smiled. Snowpaw and Stormpaw's jaws dropped. "I'm also Blackpaw's mate" She mewed. "B-B-B-but. Y-You're just an apprentice!" Stormpaw yowled. "I know, but Blackpaw told me Starclan said it was alright" She smiled again.

Snowpaw and Stormpaw were still in shock. How can two apprentices lead a clan?

Soon enough the gathering ended and everyone walked home. Snowpaw had a lot on her mind when she went to sleep that night. Why did Blackstar look so much like Ash? She thought.
