It was a regular day in the Burgundy Detective Agency. I tried my best to figure out what happened to the people who disappeared a week ago but my enemy managed to cover their tracks very well. Since I couldn't do anything without any leads, I decided to just relax and watch a live broadcast from a city called Westa on Master Shellin's computer.

A black-haired man in a white uniform was fighting an orange-haired woman in an orange outfit. Their swords clashed with each other but flames wrapped the woman's weapon.

Fighting alongside the man was a creature made up of darkness. It was humanoid in shape and had sharp claws. The two of them were pushing back the orange-haired woman which forced her to unleash a large pillar of flame.

When the flames died down, the woman had wings made up of flames sprouting from her back. Flames also wrapped around her arms.

"You actually pushed me this far. It's been some time since I last used this... So? Are you surrendering?" she asked.

"Are you kidding? I will fight until I can no longer move", the man replied.

"I see. Don't come crying to me later when you get burned."

The woman took a stance and the man was ready to receive her attack. It was supposed to lead to an intense fight until that happened.

"T-This is unexpected. Kiara Takanashi's ribbon was burned!" the referee shouted.

"Eh?" the woman looked dumbfounded.

"Eh?" the man looked at her shoulder to see that the ribbon was indeed gone.

"The winner for the second match is: Mikage Kamishiro!!!" the referee announced.

I couldn't help but laugh at that stupidity. The Idol Fan Tournament was a contest of strength. The victory conditions were making the opponent lose consciousness, knocking them out of bounds, or removing their ribbon from their shoulder.

In this case, the man won because the woman accidentally burned her ribbon. That was such an idiotic move that I could barely control my laughter. I thought that the ribbons were fireproof since she carelessly shot flames. Looks like they could still be burned.

It was ironic that she was the one who got burned when she gave him a warning about getting burned.

I heard the sound of a bell ringing and I looked up from the computer. The door of the Burgundy Detective Agency had a bell on top that would ring whenever someone opened it.

A red-haired man in a white jacket entered the office. That jacket was the uniform of the Miyako Samurai Regiment and if he was here, then that meant samurais needed the services of a detective.

"Is Detective Burgundy not here?" he asked.

"He's away on an investigation", I answered.

"This is troubling. We needed his help."

"Is this a case?"

"Yes. The Miyako Samurai Regiment needs his help for a case. If he's not here, then it's just unfortunate."

"No. It's not unfortunate. You came to the right place. I can help you."

The man looked confused.

"And you are?"

"Rihito Sakasaki, a detective."

"A detective? While it's true that we need a detective for this case, can you really help us?"

"I've been trained by Master Shellin. If you're looking for a competent detective, look no further!"

The samurai thought for a while.
