Viktor
We developed those Airships, and to Heimerdinger's annoyance, still did release them.
What was the next progression going to be? We knew we had so much more to explore.
Jayce seemed to think a lot, leaving me to root through books after books on technology, science and Arcane magic.
Jayce
"What's got you in your thought today?" he asks.
"Important ideas." I reply, truthfully. Yes, I'm thinking about new possible discoveries, but my main thought occupation has nothing to do with our HexTech dream.
"That's the same answer as yesterday, and the day before. The chalkboard is next to blank, with just a couple of my notes."
I make a small chalk-sketch of one thought - creation of more laboratories, because if we have more of those, we could employ people and be able to learn more.
I look over at Viktor, who nods in approval.
But I have something else to show him, and when will I show him it? It's something I've been thinking about for a while, and you can argue it's science, and you can argue it's not. I won't show him today.

Viktor
"Jayce, can we talk?" I ask one afternoon.
"Sure." he says, and he walks over an takes a seat.
"I've been concerned recently, about you. You don't seem to be with the world."
"I think a lot, it's nothing to really worry about."
"Just please know you can talk to me about more than science." I remind him.
When I leave the workspace that evening, I don't see the need to go home, so I go to my spot - within the machinery by the water, at the egde of one hole. I get lost staring at the water under the moonlight. I clear my head. Less things roam in my mind now, but one catches my attention.
It's Jayce and it's myself, and we seem to be closer than we are currently. Much closer.
But it's just a thought. Not a memory.
I then return to my home, to sleep, and while I sleep, the thought returns.
And they don't go.
And they can't be lost.
They beckon me to speak.
They want to be said.
But how? I can't just go knock on Jayce's door and tell him abou tall the weird shit inside my head.
Well, actually, I could, but I'm not going to.
Either way, I'd fail, because yes, while I can explain things very well, explaining feelings and something I have not pin-pointed in clearance is the next-to-impossible task.
So I'll leave it, for now.
***********************Another week (look at all these times skips lol)**************************
"Jayce, you're staring." It's something that's becoming more and more frequent, it puts me on edge and makes me nervous.
Why are you staring Jayce, why?
"No... I'm not." he plainly lies.
"Honestly, Jayce? When am I going to get an explanation?"
Jayce
When I have the confidence, and when I know the outcome won't go horribly wrong if you reject me.
Because yes, the reason I stare is because I like him, but I can't risk ruining our relationship, because that could ruin our work.
"At some point." I mumble, then we do not continue our strained conversation. He goes back to tinkering with a mechanism to be powered by HexTech, and I draw new concepts.
*************************************Another Week********************************************
I go to speak to Caitlyn after one stressful day. After everything, she's one person I can turn to.
"What's the matter?" she asks.
"Myself."
"Elaborate." she demands, a skip in her stride.
"I keep staring at this person, I'm not saying names, and I can't truthfully tell them why."
"Unless you tell me the why, Jayce, I can not help you make a decision, and also, hurry up, because I've got a job to be doing."
"I like them. I'm just going to be blunt and honest about it to you, I like them, and I don't know how to tell them that."
"You sound like you've re-visited you teenage life issues, but anyway, I'll give you advice - just tell them. It's not as rocket sciencey as HexTech." Then Caitlyn leaves to go to her job.
And I'm left to wonder - how the hell am I meant to tell them, without thinking it through like science? That's how my brain was wired, and so it seems rocket sciency.
But if you're going to treat something like a science project...
You might as well set up the outcome like one.
Viktor
Jayce arrives later to work then usual.
"What took you so long?" I ask.
"I had to speak to someone." he replies, and he is truthful.
"About what?" I question, curious.
"Something a little sciency..." he begins, and I think about what he could be thinking, but it's ot coming to me. Jayce gestures for me to stand up, so I do. He comes a little closer, puts one hand on my shoulder, and another on my cheek (admittedly awkward), and says,
"What do you think of this?"

Sorry I've taken so long to give you this chapter, but I was finding it hard to write this one, and I have another 6 books on top of this.
