Viktor

Somehow, Jayce was comfortable enough to fall asleep, and I wouldn't dare disturb him.

Even when Sky walked in.

Her face went confused at first. She stood at the end of the bed and just stared for a few seconds. Then something clicked in her brain.

"Do you actually have a cat?" she questions. I nod.

"Is there actually anything wrong with your cat?" she then asks.

"No." I reply.

"So your cat is perfectly healthy, and you were late on those few days because of something to with you and Jayce." Sky concludes. I nod again, showing her what she'd deducted was right.

Jayce began to wake, implicating that by moving his other arm over me and groaning.

"Sky's here." I whisper in his ear.

"What...?" he sleepily answers, sitting up and looking over at Sky.

"What?!" he exclaims, "Shit. Was I sleeping?"

Sky

"You know, you two look cute together." I say, instead of telling Jayce if he was sleeping or not, which he'd probably figured out already. I take a seat on a chair beside the bed.

"Have you heard who's down for suspects yet?" Jayce asks, now more awake.

"No. Who?"

"Me and you. And they're putting Mel on the list too, because that's who Viktor saw."

"Me and you?!" I repeat, shocked. Surely they can't prove that?

"It was Mel, wasn't it?" I question, curious.

"Yeah. And it's all pathetic why she did it. She wants Jayce to herself, and hates that he's with someone else, and she hates it even more that it's a homosexual relationship, therefore, she wants to hurt Jayce, and she's begun by doing that through me." Viktor explains.

"That woman's fucking twisted," I mutter, "What's so wrong with the gay? They care a lot more than people like Medarda. Homophobes are just sick, rotten people." My opinion is strong, because being homophobic is like telling someone they have to die because the homophobe says so. Since when could they have control?

"How much evidence is there behind all the suspects?" I ask.

"More behind you and me than for the councillor, unfortunately." Jayce replies.

"Ok, so how about instead of leaving this to the enforcers, we pitch something to the council. An update of the law against discrimintation. At the moment the law only says now discriminating those of other colour and religion. Why don't we add sexuality and gender?" I suggest.

"Are you being serious? With Mel on that council, we don't stand a chance!" Jayce says.

"If Mel becomes an issue, we'll deal with it there and then, but for now we should plan to do such a thing."

The two men nod, then I leave, because now I know the truth, I know they're going to want some time to sort their own shit out.

Jayce

Viktor is released from hospital, on strict orders that he is to rest. I take him to his home, and sit him down with Nina the cat. I lean over him, and kiss him on the forehead.

"I'm going to make sure you sleep and all." I tell him.

"Good luck with that." he jokes, as I move Nina onto Viktor's lap so that I can take a seat. Viktor then rests over my lap, with Nina resting on him.
