Jayce

Viktor stands at a table, packing his bag. I put my arms loosely around his neck, and kiss him on the top of his head.

"How's your day been?" I ask, running my fingers through his hair

"Jayce, that's a pretty pointless question. You've been with me all day, so you know that my day has been absolutely fine, nothing has gone wrong."

"Mhm, true. Guess I just wanted to hear your voice - I love it like I love every part of you." He turns around.

"Well, that's a little obvious. Of course you love me, or you would have never kissed me yesterday, and we'd never be here." Viktor replies.

"You're always so logical." I tell him.

"I bet you love that."

"Yes." I kiss him on the cheek, and we walk out of the laboratory, locking the door behind us.

********************************A week later*********************************

Viktor

"It doesn't feel possible that we've only been together a week." Jayce says on our walk to our homes from the workplace.

"Probably because we've known each other and been around each other longer." I say.

"I should have kissed you sooner. Then it'd feel more possible right now that we're together."

"We still have our whole lives in front of us. Neither of us are going anywhere."

We then find ourselves outside my apartment complex.

"This is my stop." I announce.

"Can I make this my stop today to?" Jayce asks.

"Sure, but it's sort of small." We go to my apartment, on the lower floor due to there being no lifts, and I unlock the door.

Inside he sees how small my place is. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a short corridor, with a living room/dining room on the other end. There are two doors in the corridor - one going to a bathroom, the other a bedroom. The kitchen is a small room off the living room/dining room, not with a door separating it.

I hang my bag on a hook, then find myself swept into a kiss. I kiss Jayce back, and we keep kissing until I'm breathless.

Jayce

There is a crash from the room ahead of us.

"What was that?"

"Nina." Viktor responds, heading to the room.

"Who's Nina?" I follow Viktor. When I enter his living/dining room, I see him holding a cat - relatively small compared to other cats I've seen.

"Nina is a cat." I state. Viktor puts Nina down on the sofa, and the grey cat settles there.

"I didn't know you had a pet." I say.

"That's because I've never told you I have a pet." Viktor picks Nina back up, and sits where she was. He then puts Nina on his lap, where she goes back to sleep like nothing happened. I take a seat next to Viktor. I stroke his cat, and he rests his head on my shoulder.

**********************************Following morning***********************************

I wake up in Viktor's bed, next to Viktor. I see light seeping through past the curtains, and turn to see a clock.

11:48 am.

Shit.

Viktor rolls over and sees that I'm awake.

"We're late for work." I tell him.

"Fuck!" he exclaims.

**************************************************************************************

We end up arriving at the laboratory 3 hours late. Walking in, we see Sky writing on paper at her desk, and Heimerdinger wandering around looking stressed, like there was an emergency.

"Where have you two been?" he cries as we enter.

"Not only do one of you show up 3 hours late, but you both do!" the Professor continues, "Is there an explanation."

"It's complicated." Viktor says, and we both hope that'll be enough, and Heimerdinger won't enquire more into the reason we are both late, and have both turned up at the same time.

Fortunately, Heimerding just grunts.

"I'll leave you to your work." he says, leaving. Sky then comes up to us.

"Can we begin working on the lighting system idea?" she asks.

"Yes, of course." I reply. We gather a HexCore, and we gather wires and lightbulbs. I can already guess that the power of HexTech will be able to power lightbulbs, but how many will one core be able to turn on, and for how long?

So, the experiment begins.

The lightbulbs overload from HexCore power until we use fifty. The lightbulbs don't seem to dim, not even when we've used as many bulbs as we have.

"One HexCore could safely power two houses, maybe a whole street." Sky says, taking notes.

"How long do you think they'll last?" I question.

"We could test it. 120 of these lightbulbs are roughly equivalent to the lighting in two homes, so we power 120 of them, and leave them, and note any change, until they go out completely." Viktor suggests.

Then we set up that test.

Seeing Viktor in his zone makes me fall in love with him even more. He knows I love him, but it doesn't feel safe to be how I want to be around him when there are other people. But even when other people know of us, will being us be safe yet then?
