Viktor

I try to ask him what he's doing, but my mouth is cut off. If I'm honest, it feels like my entire reaction system is cut off. I'm just lost in the moment.

And that weird, intrusive thought re-emerges, but it's not so intrusive now. It's like this moment right here, this action right here, has placed it in it's home, let me understand it, and now it's not invading. It belongs in this moment.

This moment...

This moment...

This moment in which Jayce just kissed me.

I now know what that thought I thought was intrusive was. It was me thinking of something like this, but at that point it was a dream.

"Jayce?" I stutter. I'm shocked and I don't know what else to say, so I'm asking him to explain. He just steps back.

"Sorry, Viktor, I probably shouldn't... I should just... go." He begins to walk away, but I grab his hand before he can go further and faster than I'd be able to manage to catch up with.

"You don't need to go anywhere. I was just a bit shocked. I didn't think you had such feelings towards me." Jayce turns around to face me.

"I always thought you liked Councillor Medarda..." I continue, "Not me."

"Mel's a good person, but I can't like her in that way. She's too controlling in my opinion, always seems to be whispering in my ear."  I stay in silence.

"I like you, Viktor," he confirms, "As more than a friend."

He puts his hand of my shoulder again, but this time puts his other hand on my waist. I put the hand, that's not clutching my crutch, on his cheek.

And I kiss him like he kissed me.

Which is something I never expected to do in my life.

I never even expected to kiss someone in my life, or be in any similar situation.

I pull away flustered. My mind's spinning, but yet I feel so happy, and nothing's overwhelming.

Jayce takes my free hand and again asks what he asked before her kissed me,

"What do you think of this?"

"It's perfect." I respond, smiling.

Jayce

I put him in my embrace for a small while, which I wished could have been longer, but there are other people in this world, and sometimes they will walk into an event in your life, to begin another one. Today, it's Heimerdinger, like usual.

We quickly removed ourselves from each other's arms. Viktor stumbles a little as we move to look like we're just going casually about our working day. He curses under his breath, but everything looks 'normal' by the time the creaky door is pushed open, and the short scientist walks in.

"I have been told to tell you two that your new laboratory has been completed, and you can move to working in it today." Heimerdinger announces.

"Thank you." Viktor says, taking the keys to the new work space as Heimerdinger hands them to him. The Professor then leaves, shutting the door behind him.

There is then a small laugh from beside me.

"I can't believe I almost fell over." Viktor says.

"I can't believe a lot of things today." I reply.

Viktor

We moved our equipment over to the new laboratory yesterday, so we saw the new space then, but today it looks even better. Maybe it's the fact the sun isn't behind clouds today, or maybe it's just the fact that someone turned the lights on this time, either way, it looks pristine.

I now notice something. A third desk-like research area. As if on cue of me seeing this, there is a knock at the door, and someone unfamiliar walks in. Behind the person, I see Heimerdinger, walking quickly.

"Viktor, Jayce, I would like to introduce you to Sky," the Professor tells us, stopping in the doorway, "She will be an apprentice to both of you. I was meant to tell you yesterday, but I forgot." Heimerdinger and Sky now both walk into the room, out of the corridor.

"Apprenticeships within the new Hextech Industry will help in promoting and evolving your work with new ideas, and for longer," Heimerdinger continues to explain, "So I hope that with Sky as the first apprentice, you can all make more breakthroughs over the coming years."

"Welcome." Jayce says, reaching out to shake Sky's hand. Sky shyly nods and gives a small smile, then sets her books on the third desk.

"Well, there goes kissing you when I pass as we work." Jayce whispers in my ear as he comes past to the chalk board, joking of course.

"Jayce!" I sarcastically tut. We both laugh a bit. I then notice Sky look up, obviously with no clue about why we're laughing.

"Did I miss something?" she timidly asks.

"No." I truthfully confirm.

"Then why were you laughing?" she questions, curious.

"I made a joke." Jayce says, not saying the full story.

"Oh, well I probably wouldn't have laughed then. Jokes don't always get me, and I don't always get them." she replies. I was so glad she didn't want any more of an explanation, because I don't think Jayce or I would have managed it.

"But I have got some paper sketches of ideas. Have you ever thought about using the power of HexTech to supply energy to Piltover?" Sky hands me her papers, and I look through them as she carries on talking, "I thought we could start small - just lighting sysytems - but then maybe do all the household appliances?"

"It's an amazing idea," I tell her, looking up from the papers, "We'll start on it early tomorrow. For now, you can go home Sky. You've done well seeing as it's your first day. You should be really proud."

"Thank you." she responds as she gathers what she came with.
