~Katya's POV~
About a week later I was finally off my period, thankfully. I fiddled with my pencil as I sat down at a small table in a little cafe I'd come across called River City Coffee, the idea of a hot coffee calling my name. It was only about noon on a Sunday, but I had only just woken up about two hours ago.
I set my bag in the empty chair beside me as I waited for my order to be called, pulling out one of my assignments I'd brought with me to complete before tomorrow. This was the last one I needed to finish, and I figured it'd be easier to just bring it with me instead of doing it later tonight.
As I was doing my assignment and waiting on my order, I heard my phone chirp in my pocket a few times before it then began to ring, causing me to frown in confusion and set my pencil down. I dug into my pocket to pull out my phone, accepting the call before I even read the name on the screen. "Kat!" Zena chirped into the phone in a happy voice. "What are you up to? Are you free?" She asked as I picked my pencil up again and began to continue my work. "I'm at River City Coffee right now. Why? Is something the matter?" I responded curiously. She seemed audibly more excited at my words. "No, nothing! We'll be there in a little bit!" She chirped, surprising me. I opened my mouth to respond, wondering who she meant by "we," but she hung up the phone before I could get even one word in.
Frowning, I lowered my phone from my ear and looked at the screen as it went dark before I shook my head in dismissal, shoving my phone back into my front pocket. It was probably just her and Saki, knowing her.
"Volkov?" I heard someone call my last name from the front of the cafe, where my order was ready for me on the counter. I got up and went to grab it, quietly saying my thanks before I returned to my seat again, sipping on the hot mocha flavored coffee. It was a little bit cool today as it was getting later in November, Thanksgiving week slowly approaching closer and closer, which meant I'd likely soon be left in my apartment by myself while everyone else returned home to see their family. My family definitely didn't have the money to fly me back up, not at this time of year, seeing as my father's business usually died down with customers towards the end of the year. Obviously, less customers meant less money.
Around ten minutes passed before the front door of River City opened, the little jingle of the overhead bell signifying someone had arrived. I glanced over my shoulder and saw Zena had indeed arrived like she said she'd be, but she wasn't with just Saki as I thought. No, instead Onyx's large frame trailed in behind her and then the rest of the group quickly piled in as well, causing my eyes to widen in surprise.
The lot of them approached the table that I was sitting at and I quickly put away the homework assignment I'd been working on, meeting Zena's grey eyes as she beamed at me happily. "Kat!" She chirped happily as everyone else greeted me as well, except for Onyx, of course. I smiled up at her and scooted over when she plopped down in the booth table and slid her way to my left side. Next to sit down was Onyx, who quickly took the spot to my right, pressing his muscular body against my side. It was certainly unnecessary because there was more than enough room for everyone to have their own space, so I knew that he was doing it just for the sake of bugging me. What's new, really?
I crossed my legs like I always did when he did this sort of thing, as he never tried to do anything when I did that before. However, it was clear to me that that had changed when he cupped my thigh with one large hand and squeezed it in his grasp, ducking his head down closer to me. Thinking he was just going to say something to me, I didn't bother to try to lean away.
But then his teeth bit playfully at my earlobe and I jumped in surprise, letting out a soft gasp as I instinctively leaned away and stared up at him with wide eyes. There was a flush that crept up my neck and into my cheeks, making my face burn with embarrassment.
He didn't appear the least bit put off by the flirty, playful action and instead actually smirked down at me in an incredibly Onyx-like fashion. I narrowed my eyes into a glare as I grabbed his wrist, digging my nails into his warm skin slightly. "If you were happy to see me, you could've just said so." I told him in a low taunt, knowing it'd grate on his nerves. We both knew why he was doing this and it sure as hell wasn't because he was happy to see me. He just wanted to reach me a lesson, the way he'd said he would over a week ago now. I had thought he'd let it go, me telling them about us, but it seems not.
Onyx let out a low noise of frustration and clenched his strong, defined jaw as he stared down at me. His eyes lit with mischief after a minute or so of our constant glare at one another and I paused, unsure what he was thinking. I placed my hands on his strong chest when he grabbed my waist and pulled me in all of the sudden, pressing his lips onto mine in a passionate, punishing kiss that had my insides quivering. All of the chatter at the table immediately died down until it was silent, my heart pounding in my ears as I felt them watching us, probably stunned. The silence had me so anxious that I almost wished Onyx would just keep kissing me because I was too embarrassed, too flustered to look at them all.
After it began to get a little hard to breathe, he broke the kiss, hazel green eyes visibly darker with lust and his long fingers digging into the soft skin of my inner thigh. "Did you have to suck each other's faces off right now?" Saki cringed, making me clear my throat and hurriedly release the hold I had on the front of his shirt. "He started it." I said lamely, shrugging.
Both Zena and Saki seemed to be the only ones not stunlocked as they looked at us. At first it wasn't so bad, them being stunned, but it quickly faded into constant questions and little glances at the two of us with a furrow in their brows. Every single one of our friends did it. Thankfully, Saki seemed to notice I was a little uncomfortable and convinced everyone to let it go and get used to it, allowing me to sip my coffee in peace.
In my ear, Onyx spoke in a low, smug manner. "Told you I'd make you face the repercussions, kitty."
