A teenage girl walked through the doors of Moores shelter for shattered and abused  people (MSFSAAP) with her tote bag clutched to her chest, crying.
“Hey, girl. What's wrong?” The receptionist asked, curious.
“Can I see a counsellor, please?” she begged.
“Okay. Kindly fill out this form.” she gave the brunette a paper and told her to sit.
“You need to wait for some minute because the counsellor, Mrs Moore is attending to someone but, as soon as she's done, I'll let you know, okay?”
The brunette nodded her head, wiping her tears.

“Come in, please.” Ethel said when she heard a knock.
The brunette walked into the massive office, feeling timid.
“Hello beautiful!” Ethel stood up to greet her warmly.
“Hi.” the brunette responded through trembling lips.
“You must be Jade Dickson.”
Ethel said and she nodded her head.
“Good, have your seat. Make yourself comfortable.” Ethel smiled at her.
The girl sat down on the white settee, still holding her bag tightly.
“Do you care for a drink or snacks?”
The girl shook her head, declining the offer.
“Okay. Do you want to play chess with me?”
“This is not what I've come for!” Jade blurted out, crying.
“I know what you're here for Jade, I know. Miss Nancy has told me about you already so…”
“Do I have a solution to my problem?” Jade said curtly.
“If only you're polite and patient.”
“Please Mrs Moore, I need your help. I'm pregnant for my father and I don't know what to do.” she cried, helplessly.
Ethel walked to where she sat, hugging her.
“How old?”
“Two months.”
Ethel sighed, deeply.
“Does he know about it?”
“Yes but, my mum doesn't.”
“What did he tell you?”
“Flush it and I can't do it. I'm scared. Today, he threatened to kill me if I don't do something about the pregnancy.” Jade blubbered.
“You have come to the right place, Jade. How old are you?”
“Fourteen.”
“You are in highschool?”
“Yes. I haven't been to school for a month now.”
“Where is your mum?”
“Nigeria. My parents are divorced.”
“This is complicated than I thought. You know what? I'll help you call your mum to tell her.”
“No, please.”
“That is the best. She has to know.” Ethel tuck Jade's hair behind her ear, staring into her green eyes.
“I was in your shoes before Jade and so, I want to help you. This,” she touched Jade's belly. “is on me. I'll take care of everything.”
Jade hugged Ethel, crying uncontrollably.
Ethel stroked her hair, saying,
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
