The Ending, Or At Least Mine Part 3

Yusei, Jack, Crow, Akiza and the twins watched in horror. This was by far the strongest EarthBound Immortal card that they have seen. They followed closely with the duel since they were all now in spirit form. Since Rex's powers separated them from their bodies with a weird border like the one used on Yusei before the duel, they can no longer interact with their friend. 

"Yusei she'll be fine...I've seen the way she's handled things within the Acadia Movement," Akiza said as Yusei turned to look at her with a grim expression. 

"I know but I should be the one who's duelling..." he muttered, angry at himself for letting (Y/n) slip through his hands and face this on her own.

"Well, good luck duelling as a spirit then" Jack scoff, not turning away from the duel. As much as Yusei hated it, he was right. With him not physically existing anymore, it makes it more difficult to do anything. 

"She'll win...she has to right?" Leo looked up to Crow, who kept his jaw clenched. 

"She will. She has to" Crow responded though his face said otherwise. No other words were spoken as the duel continued on. 

(Y/n) POV

Gods this is just wonderful, isn't it? Screw this. Just had to hope to be the special one when I was small, didn't I? This adds another example to the saying 'be careful for what you wish for'. 

Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca stood there glaring me down and to be honest, I'm too tired to care. Occasionally everything zones out and it's so tempting to give in but where is the fun in that when I can kick my 'dad's' butt? 

"C'mon dear, I'll let you have a bit more of a fighting chance while I wait for the rest of your powers to drain" Rex called out in a sickly-sweet tone. 

I took my next card and sighed out of relief for what I had just drawn. Swords of Revealing Light will buy me more time since this affects the Immortals too. If I can draw (f/d)'s card then I'll have a fighting chance. 

"Swords of Revealing Light! Paralysis the dark Immortal!" I shouted as light blinded everything in my sight. Rex growled as he swerved slightly before our sight returned.  

"Trying to give me a hard time aren't you? Enjoy your fun while it lasts, cause I promise you'll be finished soon enough" he scoffed

I switch Alexzander Dragon into defence position and end my turn. I just need a specific card...Please spirits if you can hear me, now would be great for me to draw that card. 

Narrator Pov

The duel progressed at an awfully slow pace. Though the 6 turns went by quickly, the mental tension (Y/n) was under, making time tick by slowly. The needed card seemed non-existent and so did the chance of victory. 

As (Y/n)'s next turn came, she was too afraid to draw. She felt frozen as the deck that sat in front of her seemed to slide further and further away. 

 For the first time in a long time, she returned to the scared small child from the Satellite. Scared like the time a roach hid in her room. Scared like when the thunderstorm killed all the lights giving the small room a weak glow. She was terrified. 

"Smarten up!" a higher-pitched voice screamed. The area around her faded into black but a small white circle glowed from where she stood. (Y/n) shook her head trying to make sense of what just happened. Did she just lose?

"Idiot! Why are you thinking like that" the voice came again and this time the speaker was revealed. 

"Your...me?" (Y/n) breathed seeing the younger version of herself that everyone else saw. 

"Yes...why the surprise?" she pouted, crossing her arms. Future (Y/n) shook her head, dragging a hand down her face. 

"I lost did I?" Present (Y/n) muttered looking away bitterly. 

"...no...? I mean you haven't won yet either but...regardless, you need to smarten up and focus on this duel! Non of this praying to the gods to send you the card you need. Focus on doing what you enjoy for those you want to see again. Trust me it'll work!" with that, young (Y/n) disappeared and Present (Y/n) was back in the duel.
