24. Who are you calling an Idiot?

Author Pov

With the duel over Yusei was able to avoid crashing and was able to walk away from the duel. He quickly abandoned his runner and ran to a wrecked runner lay. A helmet was abandoned next to  (Y/N). Her riding suit was all torn up and her right wrist was swollen, likely broken. 

"What were you thinking?" Yusei muttered caressing her cheek. The barrier hasn't taken her soul yet but that's not the problem right now. (Y/N) was hardly living as of right now. 

"I..was....thi...nking...bout..you" (Y/N) whispered weakly. Her chest was struggling to rise as she breathed. Yusei shook his head quietly laughing to himself. 

"You know Crow is so going to kill me" he joked trying to cover up the pain that he was feeling.

"You know...it's...ok to..cry Yusei..." she muttered as Yusei pulled her onto his lap, letting her head resting on his shoulder. Tears of her own were falling. She knew what was happening even without looking into his eyes. It was a risk she was willing to take even if her promise she made to Yusei would be broken. Now it seems she won't be able to follow him until the stars fade. Maybe not in person but as a spirit yes. This seemed like the only way to keep him safe. 

"No...please don't talk like that. I lost Kalin. I'm not losing you too. I won't let you go too," Yusei claimed, letting his tears fall. 

"Kalin will come back once you've defeated Roman, fight for him and me. He'll come back to you. You two are like an old married couple, you act like you hate each other but you really care for each other" (Y/N) smiled before wincing in pain.  

"Hey! no we don't! Alright just breathe okay, we'll get you all patched up," Yusei said trying to move her but she gripped his jacket causing to stop.

"No, I won't make. It's okay...Yusei" she mumbled weakly, leaning back into his chest. As the seal started to close in on them, Yusei leaned down and gently kissed her lips. (Y/N) used the last of her energy on the kiss as she felt her soul and her life fading away.

 It may not have been a long time that she got to spend with everyone, but it's been the best time of her life. This was her family, not Goodwin, not the clones of herself and not Syrian. Yusei, Crow, Jack, the twins, Akiza and everyone with Matha was no matter what people say. 

'Thank you, Yusei for sticking by me through everything' those were the last thoughts she had before falling to the darkness.

(Y/N) Pov

"What were you thinking?!" A voice woke me up immediately but I wasn't at the abandoned site where I was duelling Yusei.

"I'M ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I called out touching my face repeatedly to ensure I wasn't dreaming. Which would be weird considering that I literally just died three seconds ago.  I was now in a bright area.

"Are we just going to ignore me? Or are you interested in me saving your life?" I jumped at the voice, slightly panicking. 

"Who's there?!" I called out to the light slightly terrified. 

"Did I just catch you kissing Yusei?" Kalin teased walking towards me. I ran towards him before I even knew what I was doing and tackled him to the ground. 

"I'm glad you're safe and were you spying on us?" I asked slightly hurt. 

"Nevermind that anyways, I brought you here for a reason," He said quickly as we got up. He lead me somewhere where I could see myself and Yusei in the Position that I last remember before I 'died'. 

"Time is frozen so don't worry about that," He said before redirecting my attention to my back. 

"You're a Signer or more like a ruler of the Star People reincarnated. You are the Crimson Flair. The last ruler who defeat this dark force last time. " He said as I shook my head. There is no possible way of that being me.  Look on your back, you have the complete Crimson Dragon on your back, plus there are the marking on your left shoulder." (There marking can be whatever you want) 

"But, I'm not alive anymore so I can't defeat Roman" I sighed sadly.

"You give up too easily Since you represent the Crimson Dragon as a living being then it can also transfer the rest of your power that it hid away until a time like this, you'll be fine. Good Luck! I need to get out of here soon, I'm starving" Kalin muttered as he cast a light to send me back to living.

 I felt my body warm up again and felt Yusei's lips on mine again. Now that I had more energy I wrapped my arms around his neck and felt his arms wrap around my waist holding me up against him. We both quickly pulled away for a breath then I kissed him again, this time more passionately. Now it was just us, all of our troubles melted away and we just enjoyed being in each other's presence. Our kiss lasted longer cause I had no pesky older brother to interrupt us. 

"Missed me that much huh?" I teased him once we pulled apart. 

"I thought I lost you, what happened?" he muttered, his voice rough from crying. 

"I'll tell you later, it's too risky right now," I said 

"But first before we go anywhere, I need to do something"

"What?" Yusei gave me confused look as I reached up to touch one of his spikes of hair. I pushed it down and it sprung back up again. But because of the position we were in Yusei ended falling backwards with me landing on top of him. 

"I can't believe your hair did that" I squealed like a child. Yusei laughed at how I reacted. 

"You're an idiot," he smiled and I playfully pouted.

"Who are you calling an idiot?" I rested my head onto his chest and he wrapped his arms around my waist again. We laid there for a bit in silence. 

"We should get going," Yusei said but I didn't budge.

"We aren't going anywhere are we?"

"Nope"

"..."

"Yusei?"

"Hm?"

"I love you!"

"I love you too!"
