Chapter 16

We start off this chapter at the idiots' mansion. The outside is peaceful as winter ends and ushers in the spring. Y/n had returned to the mansion the next day after everyone had celebrated. He was interrogated by both Megumin and Aqua about where he had gone, but he told them both to shut up and stay out of his business. 

Now, if you remember last chapter, then you may remember he had gone off with Sena. Did something happen between them? Did nothing happen between them? Who knows? I won't fucking tell you.

Aqua: No! No way!

Yeah, it wouldn't be Konosuba if Aqua wasn't making a ruckus. Inside the mansion's living room, by the fireplace, Aqua was clutching onto the couch while Darkness and Megumin tried to pull her away.

Aqua: It's still cold outside! Why do you guys want to go out there so badly!?

Megumin: I can't cast explosion magic unless I'm outside! 

Aqua: Then bother Y/n!

Megumin: I can't find Y/n!

Darkness: Monsters start to become active as spring approaches, so that means more work for adventurers!

Aqua: Are you guys children!? Are you two basically little kids who want to go play outside!? If you want to go outside so bad, go without me!

Megumin: Who are you calling a little kid!?

Darkness: You're acting far more childish right now Aqua! At this rate...

Both Darkness and Megumin stop struggling with Aqua and look back.

Darkness/Megumin: You'll end up like that.

Now all three of them were looking at Kazuma.

Aqua: Okay, even I would rather not end up like that... But why don't you convince that loser before me!?

Kazuma: Listen, you three. Even-tempered as I may be, I still get angry sometimes. Where do you get off calling someone "that" and a loser? How rude can you be?

Kazuma is laying under a homemade kotatsu. Only his head poked out from it as the girls looked at him with a deadpan. 

Aqua: If you have a problem, why don't you get out from under there first?

He retreated back into the kotatsu.

Kazuma: We defeated the demon Vanir, one of the Demon King's commanders... But, we weren't able to savor our victory for long. Wiz is also one of the Demon King's commanders.

He begins having a flashback to both him and Darkness standing outside of Wiz's shop.

Kazuma: The fact that we had slain one of her comrades was something we had to tell her. It would've been nice to have Y/n here since she seems to enjoy having him around, but we couldn't find him.

Darkness: I'll tell her about Vanir. It wasn't for long, but we shared a body and wreaked havoc together. As a crusader in the service of Eris-sama, I probably shouldn't say such a thing... But I didn't dislike him.

She opens the door and enters the store.

Darkness: Wiz, we need to tell you something...

Standing before her in a pink apron is Vanir, his mask having the roman numeral for 2 on it.

Vanir: Hey, welcome folks! Now, girl who had a distant look in her eyes as she was in front of the store spouting embarrassing nonsense... Wiz is out on a date with that arch wizard monster while I run the store. Also, there's something I must inform you of. "But I didn't dislike him!" About that... You see, we demons have no gender, so that embarrassing declaration of your feelings is nothing I can--oh my!
