Y/n entered the common area of the mansion to see Megumin and Darkness playing chess while Kazuma relaxed on a red chair in front of the fire. He saw Darkness take two of Megumin's pieces in one move confusing him.
Y/n: Are they playing checkers on a chessboard?
Megumin: Darkness! That's not fair! All right then... Very well, very well.
He zoned out of their conversation when Aqua entered the room and walked straight to Kazuma.
Aqua: Hey, Kazuma. Relinquish that spot to me, the exalted Aqua-sama.
Kazuma: Huh?
Aqua: I'm level 21, the highest level in the party. You're being awfully impertinent for an under-leveled lowbie.
Kazuma: Y/n. What level are you?
Y/n: I'm around level 43.
Aqua: I'm still a higher level than you! If you get that then give the spot nearest to the fireplace to your superior.
Kazuma: Huh? I don't think your stats have risen at all since I first saw them.
Aqua: Kazuma, you fool. My stats were obviously maxed out from the very start! You're mistaken to lump me together with ordinary adventurers.
Y/n: Is that why she never gets any smarter?
Kazuma gets up from his seat, much to Aqua's surprise.
Aqua: You're being very obedient.
He then places a hand on her shoulder and gives her a sad look.
Kazuma: That explains why her intelligence doesn't improve no matter how much she levels up.
Aqua: Hey, wait. Why are you crying? What's with that look in your eyes, like you're staring at someone pitiful.
He begins to walk away while wiping a few tears from his eyes.
Kazuma: Goodnight.
Aqua: Hey, Kazuma! Sheesh! What's your problem.
The next day, both Kazuma and Y/n were walking through the streets of Axel when they noticed two adventurers acting strangely.
Y/n: Aren't they your friends?
Kazuma: Yeah.
Y/n: Your friends are acting like idiots.
Kazuma and Y/n looked at each other before shrugging and approaching the two. They were both staring down an alleyway when they approached.
Kazuma: Hey, what are you guys doing?
The two jumped back in fear when they heard his voice but calmed down when they saw it was Kazuma.
Adventurer1: Oh, it's you, Kazuma? Don't scare me like that. Oh, you brought Accelerator with you today?
Kazuma: These guys are Keith and Dust, two adventurers I got to know recently.
