7 minutes in heaven

I woke up to find Soda sleeping next to me, instead of Pony. What the? What's he doing here? I was about to shake him awake, when he suddenly woke up in a gasp. It surprised me enough to cause a little squeak to escape my mouth.

"Whoa, I had dream I was falling" he said, sitting up.

"No wonder, you scared me" I complained. He smiled that goofy smile of his.

"Look at that, without even trying" he said. I playfully pushed him, and got out of bed. First place I went to, was the bathroom. After washing my face, I noticed I was still in my t-shirt and shorts. My hair was a bit messed up too, but it didn't bother me none. I sighed, and walked into the kitchen, expecting Darry already making breakfast, but what I found, was Darry. Not making breakfast, but sitting down and drinking a cup of coffee with Drew! Once I spotted him, I tried backing up to my room, but ended tripping and falling flat on my back.

"Mary? Was that you?" I crawled back, poking my head into the dining room.

"Uh, yea. I... was just... um... oh look! A squirrel!" With that, I quickly crawled back into my room. Soda was changing his shirt, so that was kind of lucky for me. "Soda, did you know Drew was here?"

"Yea, why?" He turned to look at me, and cocked an eyebrow. "What are you doing on the floor?"

"Long story, and why didn't you tell me?" He shrugged.

"You didn't ask" he replied. I stood up and dusted the dirt off of my knees.

"Nice excuse, now get out, I need to get ready" I said, pushing him out the door.

"Alright, alright, I'm going" he responded. I closed the door after he left, and quickly changed into something different. After I brushed my hair and fixed it, I walked out. Got to look good in the morning. Just as I walked into the kitchen, I spotted Pony. Well, I knew I had to face him sooner or later.  I sighed, and went over and sat next Drew. He greeted me with a smile.

"Hey there, sleeping beauty" he said. I laughed.

"Hey, what're you doing here so early?" He shrugged, usual.

"I don't really like to hang out with my parents" he replied.

"So, you avoid them?" He nodded. I cocked an eyebrow, something I picked up from Two-Bit, but didn't say anything. Without even realizing it, I was staring at Pony. I came to my senses, when he was turning to me, but I looked away. Nope, not happening. I'm not going to forgive him so easily this time. I've got to be strong.

"Hello universe and all who inhabit it!" Rebekah's voice came booming throughout the house. She walked into the kitchen way too enthusiastic. Jasie and Charlie followed behind.

"Hey Rebekah, what's up?" She came up to me and hugged me tightly. I swear, that girl is strong. I slowly began to stand up, trying to keep my balance.

"Rebekah, Johnny's here!" Suddenly, she released me, causing me to fall back, while she ran off to the living room. I stayed there, lying on my back for a while, before getting up. As soon as I did, I was picked up in a hug, by the one and only, Two-Bit Matthews.

"Mary! I missed you!"

"Yea.. me... too... can't... breathe" I said. He released me, and faced me.

"Sorry bout that, I just- oh! Food!" Two-Bit ran off to the table and sat down. What the hell? This is a weird day.

"Mary! Where were you, you had me worried sick!" I turned and came face to face with my worried looking aunt and her emotionless boyfriend. Does he always look like that?

"I, uh, was with my friend, Drew" I replied, motioning towards him. My aunt looked at him, then turned back to me.

"Okay, but please be careful next time, and tell me when your going off again" she said, before walking over to the table and sitting down. I walked into the living room. Rebekah was holding hands with Johnny, Charlie and Jasie were talking, and Drew was just sitting there. When did he go into the living room? I shrugged it off, and sat next to him.

"Okay, I'm off, see y'all when I get out" Darry said, walking out the front door. Along with him, My aunt and her boyfriend, and Two-Bit. Now, it was just the rest of us. Soda and Steve were playing arm wrestle in the kitchen, and the rest of us were in the living room.

"Who wants to play 7 minutes in heaven?" We all turned to Rebekah, who suggested the idea.

"Where?"

"At my house" she replied.

"I'm up for it" Soda called, winking at Jasie.

"Me too" Jasie added, giggling and blushing a bit.

"Me too" Charlie spoke up, looking over at Steve, who got a big smile on his face and agreed to go, too. Everybody turned to Pony, Drew, and me.

"Are y'all up for it?" I shrugged. "C'mon, Mary, please?" I turned to Drew, who shrugged and gave me a slight smile.

"Okay" I said. Then, I turned to Pony, who nodded a yes. Rebekah squealed, and stood up, pulling Johnny up, too. We all began heading over to Rebekah's house, which was a few blocks away from the Curtis house. I talked to Drew throughout the whole way. Whenever he laughed, I saw his dimples. I just love a guy with dimples.

When we got there, dark clouds hung over the town. It looks like it's going to rain. I walked inside and settled myself on the couch, and the game began.

"C'mon, Mary, your next" Rebekah said, a bright smile on her face. I placed my hand on the bottle, and spinned it. Everyone watched, as the bottle spun and spun, slowing down every second that passed, until it finally stopped. I followed the direction the bottle was pointing, and met Drew's eyes. Everyone whistled and cheered. Rebekah gabbed my arm, and his, and pulled us over to her closet. "Okay guys, y'all have 7 minutes, have fun" she said, obviously hiding a giggle in her voice. She pushed us in, and closed the door behind us.

It was dark in the closet, and small. I could practically feel Drew's breath on my neck, sending chills down my back. Out of nowhere, I heard something fall.

"Ow." Drew's voice came out in a whisper, but I knew he really meant to yell.

"Drew, are you alright?" I tried walking over to him, but tripped over something, and fell.

"Whoa, Mary?" That's when I realized that I landed on Drew.

"Ha, hey. Found you" I said, trying to replace the awkwardness with humor. I heard him chuckle, which put a smile on my face. It was getting quiet between us.

"Uh, Mary?"

"Yea?"

"Your still on top of me" he said. I felt myself start blushing, as I got off.

"Sorry" I said.

"It's alright" he responded. From a tiny hole in the wall, light beamed in. I was able to see his eyes, dark brown, looking a light brown in the light. They looked so... beautiful, I hadn't even realized that he was leaning closer and closer to me. Until our lips touched, and I felt everything.
