I walked into the lonely house, and took a deep breath. Ah, this is what victory feels like. There was a smile on my face. Rebekah walked in after me, along with Jasie and Charlie.
"Y'all can sit down on the couch" I said, while I made my way into the kitchen.
"Wait, are you getting food?" I nodded. "Well then, fuck that! I want food too!" She nearly pushed me out of the way as she ran into the kitchen. Charlie, Jasie, and I all began laughing at that. Rebekah just loves food. I sat on the couch, waiting for Rebekah to be back. When she was, she had a box of cookies in one hand, and a carton of chocolate milk in the other.
"I hope you're thinking of sharing" I teased. She happily shook her head, and plopped down next to me. It got quiet, and awkward quiet. Hmm, what to do...
"There's nothing to do!" Jasie groaned. I nodded n agreement. Then, I jumped up.
"Who wants to do the Harlem Shake?" All three girls looked at me, slightly tilting their heads to the side. "Y'all don't know what the Harlem Shake is?"
"Nope" Charlie replied, popping the "p". I took out my phone, and showed them the video me and my friends made a few months ago, when I was back in my time. The girls laughed at our crazy dance moves.
When the video finished, they all looked at me.
"Well? Are y'all up for it?" They all nodded. I cheered, and got everything set up. "Okay, two of y'all sit there, and one over here" I instructed, pointing to where they should be. "Alright, I'm going to start, then y'all come in when I say, okay?"
"Yup" Rebekah said. I started the music, and began doing the hump, while the girls pretended not to notice.
"Okay, now!" All three girls jumped up and started dancing like crazy. Laughter filled the room as we continued dancing for a good 20 seconds. And, when the song ended, we all fell to the floor with laughter. I had it all recorded on my phone, and played it back. As we watched, we continued laughing.
"That was fun, who wants to do another one?"
"I do!"
"Me too!
"Me three!" I set up the camera again, and played the song. This time, Rebekah started it up, with the hump. I was looking at my nails, until it was time for all of us to start dancing. I wiggled all around, and humped the air. My laughter flooded the air as I continued dancing. We didn't even notice when the guys stepped in, until the song ended. Charlie, Jasie, Rebekah, and I were all laughing. Until, I spotted the gang standing in the doorway, along with my aunt.
All of them had a look of confusion on their face. Then, my aunt stepped forward. She had her hands on her hips, and a smirk slowly came onto her pretty face.
"Harlem Shake?" I nodded with a smile, trying to hold back my laugh. She chuckled and shook her head.
"You wanna see the video we made?" Everyone crowded around me, as I played it back. First, it was me who started it, by doing the hump. Then the rest of the girls joined the dancing. We all cracked up laughing. And, like always, I tripped and landed on someone. Ponyboy. He looked at me with happy eyes as his hands rested on my hips. I couldn't help but blush. Yes, I know. I'm supposed to be mad at him, but what good will that do? "Hey" I said.
"Hey" he greeted back. I stood up and helped him to his feet.
"Where's Drew?" Suddenly, there was a frown on Pony's perfect face. He shrugged. I bit the inside of my cheek, as I thought about the reason why Pony would hate him. Suddenly, someone wrapped their arms around my waist from behind.
"Here I am" someone whispered into my ear. I turned around, and Drew was standing right behind me. Instantly, I threw my arms around him, hugging him tightly.
"You just missed everything" I said, after I pulled back. He had that adorable half smile on his face.
"I was standing in the doorway the whole time y'all were dancing" he admitted. I blushed a deep red as I realized that he saw me dancing like a lunatic. "It was funny."
"Yea, it was" I replied, playing with a piece of my hair. "Are you, um... staying for dinner?" He smiled at me, showing his straight, white teeth.
"Of course" he replied. I smiled back, as we stared into each other's eyes. When suddenly, Rebekah stares at me too, with a mischievous smile on her face.
"Ooh! She's blushing!" I quickly covered my cheeks. And, Drew did the least thing I expected him to do. He softly grabbed my hands, and moved them away from my face. I stared at him in disbelief, forgetting about everyone else in the room. It was just me and him.
