"So, are you going to tell them?" Kinkajou asked.
"I have too eventually," Moon pointed out. "Also, I kind of already did."
"Okay, but you just need to walk up to him and say 'I love you.' Boy dragons can't understand what you're saying unless you shove it in their faces. They're so insecure. My, I'm glad I'm not one of them. Are you going to tell them soon?" Kinkajou specified.
"Winter won't be at Jade Mountain, but I might tell Qibli," Moon said to her friend.
"What do you think he'll think about it?"
"No idea." Moon was excited to go back to Jade Mountain Academy, but also nervous. She had made a decision, but she wasn't sure what the two dragons in question would think about it. And now that she was flying towards Jade Mountain Academy, her mind was buzzing frantically.
"Ooh. I see him!" Kinkajou exclaimed, pointing to the west. A small, sand-colored shape was flying towards them. Against her will, Moon started flying faster. Should I tell him what I chose? Moon wondered, or not.
Moon looked at her friend. Kinkajou's scales were yellow and coral. Excitement and curiosity, Moon thought.
Her talons thumped onto the ledge outside of the Great Hall. Next came Kinkajou. Moon watched the brightly colored RainWing scurry inside. Moon started to follow her, but stopped when Qibli landed behind her. Qibli, her heart whispered. After weeks away from the SandWing she was finally talonsteps away from him. Just like I should be, she found herself thinking.
"Moon!" he exclaimed.
"Qibli!" she replied. Should I tell him or not? Should I tell him or not? Should I tell him or not? Should I tell him or not? Does he know, or is Kinkajou right?
"I'm so glad to see you," Qibli almost shouted.
"Me too," Moon gasped. Does he still feel about me like that? Does he still feel about me like that? Does he still feel about me like that? Does he still feel about me like that? Feels like it.
"Let's go inside," Qibli suggested, turning. Moon turned with him. As they did, their wings brushed and Moon's heart beat like a waterfall. She had never been so glad that Kinkajou couldn't see her face.
"Hey," shouted Fatespeaker.
"Hey," Qibli replied. They began to walk to their caves, when Moon had to leave to her own cave, her heart felt like something had been ripped out of it. Maybe, if I ask, Qibli could get transfered to my cave. HE could replace Sienna the Nosy.
"Moon," Kinkajou shouted. A flicker of orange appeared on her ruff, but was quickly swallowed by yellow. "Where were you?"
"I-." Moon began.
"Were you with HIM?" Kinkajou interrupted. "Were you? Were you?"
"He was there," Moon tried.
"Did you TELL him?"
"Not yet."
"Tell him! Tell him! TELL HIM! He'll never get it until you tell him!"
"Who's telling who what?" a soft voice said from outside the cave, and Sienna stepped in. She was a golden-brown MudWing, and much more slender than most of her tribe. Her long, golden horns curved gracefully, and her amber eyes sparkled.
"I really want Moon to tell-." Kiknkajou started. Moon stomped on her tail.
"YOUCH!" Kinkajou yelled.
"Ireallywantmoontotellqibliabouthowshefeelsabouthim," Kinkajou said in a rush.
"Does she LIKE him?" Sienna asked.
"No," Moon said, stomping on Kinkajou's tail again to keep her from speaking. Sienna loved to gossip, and if she knew about Moon's crush, then the whole school would by sundown. Including Qibli. I should be happy about that. Moons, WHY am I so nervous?
Sienna shrugged and grabbed a scroll from the scroll rack. She sat in her mud puddle, making sure to keep it out of the mud, and began to read.
When will I feel ready to tell him? Moon wondered. Ever?
