Ch. 47: Closer Than Close II

*the next day*

"Spencer, are we even sure it was Kameron's uncle that killed your mom?" Mr. A inquired as he paced back and forth in the living room.

"I don't even know what to think anymore, Pops" Spencer heaved a big sigh. "But I know I need to speak with Mr. Williams as soon as possible. He deserves to know that BH was the one that led me to his brother. I was stupid enough to believe his word and do what I did" he shook his head.

"It definitely wasn't a wise decision, but you can't just completely blame yourself. You were a grieving fourteen year old and you believed someone you thought you could trust" Olivia said as she rubbed his shoulder.

"And now I'm payin' for it" Spencer rubbed a hand across his face.

"You said Kameron's brother was a gang member?" Mr. A inquired and Spencer nodded his head. "I know both sets beef, I wonder if it has more to do with that and less to do with your moms murder" he placed a hand on his chin.

"The same dudes that started that brawl at Fox Hills?" Olivia questioned.

"Both sets been beefin' for some time. I wouldn't be surprise if Kameron's uncle wasn't responsible for my moms death and BH just pinned the blame on him to fuel the rivalry" Spencer heaved a big sigh.

"I just don't understand what's the point of it all?" Olivia inquired as she shook her head.

"I would say territory but it's all just stupidity in all honesty" Mr. A answered. "Spencer, when this issue with Mr. Williams is settled, you need to get out of the city. I know you want to stay around because it's home and you've got your people here, but you just can't. It's just not the best option and you need to think about your future with your kids" he continued.

"I haven't been active for a few months now. I'm planning my exit for sure, it just needs to be strategic" Spencer said. "There's just a lot goin' on, but the shit is goin' to get figured out" he continued.

"What do you plan on tellin' Mr. Williams when you see him?" Mr. A questioned. "He finds out the truth, then what?" 

"Maybe he won't kill me?" Spencer lightly chuckled. "I don't know what else to do, Pops" he shrugged his shoulders.

"Speakin' with him is a good idea, but you don't know how he'll react. I'm sure he's already upset that the man he teamed up with to get you killed is in prison. If he finds out that the same man promised him your demise was the main reason behind his brother's death, that will for sure set him off" Mr. A explained and Spencer nodded.

"I'ma figure somethin' out by tonight" Spencer said as he glanced at Olivia. "I know the both of you are tired of this and just want to be free from the worrying" he continued.

"And we want you here" Olivia said. "Well need you here" she said as she placed a hand on his knee.

"When do the both of you leave for your trip?" Mr. A questioned.

"Saturday" the young couple said in unison.

"Well, you've got to nip this in the bud before then Spencer" he lightly chuckled and Olivia agreed.

"I will. The both of you have my word" Spencer nodded his head. "I'm ready to wind down and enjoy my time with this one" he lightly nudged Olivia's arm.

"And until then, you've got some serious work to do. But just know that you don't have to do this alone" Mr. A mentioned.
