Spencer James

*two days later*

"Come on, Angel! Crawl to daddy!" Spencer urged as he gently tapped on the carpet. Angel laid on her stomach, staring at her father blankly. "My Angel looovveee, why won't you crawl to meeee" Spencer jokingly sung, causing Angel to laugh. He smiled at her in adoration and gently pecked her cheeks.

"I didn't know Spencer James could sing?" Olivia chuckled as she stood in the doorway, observing Spencer with his daughter.

"I ain't the best, but I can carry a tune" Spencer smiled, standing up off of the ground. "What's up, baby? You finish your assignment?" He inquired as he walked toward Olivia, gently pecking her lips.

"I actually completed three assignments, surprisingly" Olivia smiled at him as she cupped his face. "I'm amazed at how much  was able to get done. I guess being here in Malibu brings such a calming aura compared to being at home or in my dorm" she continued and Spencer agreed.

"Being out here will do that to you" Spencer said as he kissed her once more. "With the many times I've been out here, I was able to get a lot of shit done" he said and Olivia nodded her head.

"Have you talked to BH?" Olivia inquired and Spencer nodded his head 'yes'.

"It started off smooth, he asked me about how I was doin' and other shit" He started and Olivia just listened. "It got rocky though as soon as he mentioned Jay and when I started talkin' about gettin' out of the gang" he continued and Olivia frowned.

"What did he say?" Olivia questioned.

"He didn't understand why I wanted to leave. He started talkin' bout how I can't buy myself out of the shit and that I'm in too deep. Same shit I've been tellin' you for quite some time now" Spencer heaved a big sigh. "That nigga don't have shit to lose. But I do, Liv. I have a family to look after, I have dreams I want to fulfill. I'm just tryna turn this shit to heaven, cause I'm hell bound" he continued.

"Since it doesn't seem like you can escape this, what's your plan in the meantime?" Olivia questioned.

"Just keep livin' and focus on the shit I need to focus on. Continue to keep my distance, that's all I really can do. I don't have a definite answer" He answered truthfully. "Hopefully I can try to bring it up with him again, but I don't think he liked the way I spoke to him during our conversation" he continued.

"Why not?" Olivia furrowed her eyebrows.

"He an OG and I guess that means I'm supposed to be respectful to him" Spencer chuckled and Olivia shook her head. "He probably goin' to set me up next. All I got to say is, it's an inside job if it looks fishy" Spencer chuckled once more.

"Spencer, that's not funny" Olivia frowned at him.

"I'm just jokin', Liv" Spencer said as he pecked her forehead. "I'm tryna bound over my visit with death. I'll be here for awhile, you can believe that" he affirmed and she weakly smiled at him.

"What y'all negros doin' in here?" Mr. A inquired as he stood in the doorway. "Why you got the baby on the damn floor, Spencer?" He shook his head as he entered the bedroom.

"I was tryna get Angel to crawl to me" Spencer said as he walked toward Mr. A and his daughter. "Angel, baby, crawl to daddy!" Spencer motioned his daughter toward him and she just stared at him.

"She's not goin' to learn how to crawl if you're bent down in front of her, dumbass" Mr. A said, earning a laugh from Olivia. Spencer cut his eyes at her and she immediately stopped laughing.

"Sorry" Olivia mouthed to him and Spencer just shook his head.

"Get behind her and gently push her feet upward and back" Mr. A instructed as he sat on the carpet behind Angel. He gently grabbed her feet and demonstrated the first step.
