Olivia Baker

"The family of Spencer James?" a doctor walked out with their clipboard.

Olivia and Mr. A stood up from their chairs, waiting to hear an update regarding Spencer's health. Spencer didn't have any blood relate family, the two of them were all he genuinely had.

"Uh...that's the both of us..." Olivia spoke up as she fidgeted with her fingers.

"I don't know how but Spencer is extremely lucky to have survived the accident. His minimal injuries were a sprained ankle and bruising. However, he has suffered from a severe concussion and will need to stay overnight so we can observe him" the doctor explained and the two adults sighed.

"When Spencer returns home, it is best he limits his physical activity for 10 to 14 days. I would highly recommend one of you to stay with him during his recovery in case his injury worsens. Do you have any questions?" the doctor inquired.

"Can we see him?" Olivia asked as she shifted her weight from one foot to the other. Her nerves were bad, she wanted nothing more than to see him.

"Yes you may, just one of you at a time" the doctor instructed and Olivia nodded.

"Go, Olivia. Go see Spencer, I'll wait out here" Mr. A said. Olivia thanked the older man and gave him a quick hug.

Olivia sped out of the waiting area and searched for Spencer's room. She paused at the entrance of his room and stared at her boyfriend as he rested in the hospital bed.

"Liv?" Spencer called out and she weakly smiled.

"Hey you" Olivia entered the room and approached his bed. "How are you feeling baby?" she asked as she reached for his hand.

"Like shit" Spencer chuckled and Olivia playfully rolled her eyes. "Come here" Spencer said as he carefully moved to make room for her.

"You...scared me tonight" Olivia said as she laid next to him. "The doctor said you were lucky to have even survived the accident..." she continued as she rested her head in her hand.

"I guess it wasn't my time to go yet" Spencer said as he closed his eyes. "The other driver okay?" he opened his eyes and looked at Olivia.

"The other driver will be okay, Spencer. You actually weren't at fault, another vehicle caused you to swerve into the other driver" Olivia explained and he nodded. "However, you were speeding and you'll have to pay a fine" she continued.

"I didn't even see the other car" Spencer heaved a big sigh.

"You were too busy yelling at me" Olivia chuckled and Spencer frowned. "It doesn't matter though, I'm just glad you're okay" she said as she caressed his cheek.

Olivia smiled as she leaned in and sealed their lips together. Spencer used his non injured hand to grasp the back of her head, deepening their kiss.

"Where's my gun?" Spencer whispered as he broke their kiss.

Olivia opened her purse to reveal his gun.

"The accident was not that far from Mr. A's home. He said he heard a loud boom and ran outside to see what it was. He nearly ran for his life when he noticed it was you..." Olivia explained and Spencer nodded. "He told me where you were at and gave it to me...he didn't want to risk you getting locked up" she finished.

"I've got to thank him when I see him again" Spencer said.

"He's actually out in the waiting area. He'll see you next, but we need to talk first" Olivia said and Spencer furrowed his eyebrows.

"Am I in trouble?" Spencer chuckled and Olivia just stared at him.

"I want you out of this life, Spencer. I don't know what you need to do, but you need to get out. You could've died tonight, not as a direct result from your lifestyle, but it did influence this accident. This should be a good enough reason for you to want better for yourself" Olivia stated and Spencer simply shook his head.

"It ain't easy-"

"I know, Spencer. But I've done research and there are plenty of outreach programs for you to enroll in to fix your life. You just need to get the hell out of Los Angeles" Olivia interrupted.

"I just can't leave, Oliva. This is a lifelong commitment and-"

"It doesn't have to be, Spencer" she interrupted him once more. "I just refuse to sit and watch you get yourself killed" she continued.

"I'm already a dead man walkin', Olivia" Spencer said sternly. Olivia removed herself from his hospital bed and crossed her arms.

"God, what am I doing?" Olivia gazed up at the ceiling in frustration. "I don't know why I even try..." Olivia rubbed her forehead with her hand.

"What are you talkin' about?" Spencer questioned.

"I can't want what's best for you, more than what you want for yourself! You're not going to change anytime soon and I refuse to waste my time trying!" Olivia snapped as she reached her breaking point.

"Nah. That ain't fair, Liv. You knew what is was the moment we met" Spencer argued. " I didn't ask for you to change me, truthfully ain't shit gonna change" Spencer lowered his voice to lessen his headache.

"You know what? Now is not the time to discuss this. You need to get some rest" Olivia reached for her purse and Spencer sat up.

"You don't have to leave, Liv" Spencer frowned as he watched her grab her belongings.

"I do actually. I have to figure out where the fuck I'm going to sleep tonight because of this shit" Olivia said as she walked out of Spencer's hospital room.

She found herself back in the waiting area.

"You can go ahead and see him, Mr. A. I actually need to get going" Olivia said and watched him get out of his seat.

"Thank you, Oliva. You take-"

"WHERE IS HE?!" a young woman rushed into the hospital in a panic. The young woman had been carrying an infant as she looked around the hospital. "WHERE IS HE?!" she repeated.

Olivia couldn't help but feel for the young woman in visible distress. She knew the feeling too well, thankfully Spencer had been okay though.

"I need you to calm down, miss!" the receptionist walked toward the young woman and placed her hands on her shoulders. "Who are you here to see?" the receptionist inquired.

"My daughter's father, I need to know if he's okay!" the young woman exclaimed.

"I need you to calm down. Who are you here to see?" the receptionist repeated.

"Spencer...Spencer James" the young woman calmed her nerves.

Olivia stood frozen as her stomach twisted in knots.
