It was gone five in the morning, Kian was bloody shattered, his daughter keeping him up all night and he longed for Jac to give her a chance wherever she was. He knew she was scared shitless, it was huge for her to go through it alone, bringing up a baby and he knew she was fragile when she left and highly stressed. Kian could only imagine what she had gone through and now the result of that in the form of their daughter. He was trying his best to settle the baby and he had been unable to, trying a bottle, changing her, holding her, rocking her but nothing and he was running out of options. Maybe she was ill but he didn't think so, she wasn't hot or even showed signs of being ill and being a surgeon he was pretty sure that he would be able to tell if something was wrong with her. He knew she was just being fussy but around six in the morning, there was a knock on the door.

"Sacha? How did you even get my address..."

"Fletch" he responds and Kian sighs bouncing the baby up and down in his arms "Rough night?"

"Yeah, you could say that" Kian hums gently as the baby continues to cry "I tried feeding her, winding her, changing her, holding her but she won't settle, kind of lost at this point"

"Here" Sacha takes the baby into his arms, she immediately settles and looks around the room "Sometimes they just need someone else"

"Thanks, Sacha" Kian sighs tiredly shaking his head "Any news on Jac?"

"I've rung Jonny to see if Emma's there and she is but I know it seems like a good sign...Jac hasn't spoken to her in months, almost a year just like us"

"Great" Kian mutters sarcastically, Sacha looks at him sympathetically "Ok well...I don't know what else to suggest apart from looking at her medical records but that's hardly allowed"

"Have you reported this to the police?" he asks and Kian shakes his head, he didn't want Jac to get into trouble especially with how fragile she could be "It could be the only way to find her-"

"I cant Sacha, Jac...she's too fragile to be interrogated" Kian shakes his head causing a light sigh "I don't mind risking looking at her medical records-"

"Kian no" Sacha shakes his head and he groans "You're not risking your job, not with a new baby, she needs your support. Thinking about the future does she have a name yet?"

"Well I've settled on one, unsure if Jac will like it though," he says quietly causing Sacha to look up at him expectantly "Ebony?"

"I mean it suits her," Sacha says and Kian smiles slightly still looking for his approval "It's perfect actually"

"You reckon?"

"Yep" Sacha grins and Kian sighs in relief, now he had some sort of indicator whether Jac would like the name or not

"Ok good" Kian smiles unable to keep the daft grin off his face "Good..."

"You don't have anything to worry about Kian" Sacha assures him and smiles "We'll find her"

"I hope so..." Kian trails off and smiles down at his daughter that Sacha was holding, he smiles slightly "I guess the only course of action is keeping her safe, maybe one day Jac will come to her senses but genuinely-"

"You think a chance will be a fine thing?"

"Yeah" Kian shakes his head softly wishing and willing for Jac to come to her senses which he knew would be an impossible task but one worth living for...at least he thought so...

He idolised her, further than he could ever imagine. The way his eyes cast over her photo, the only one he had, it was a time of intimacy, pain, and misfortune on their part. The time when she asked him to marry her, he couldn't accept, not at first because he knew, more than she did, that this was all a fever dream, something idealistic in their minds. The whole point was to pleasure each other, to only understand and figure out each other's bodies without feelings attached to that, he knew that it wasn't that anymore, that he longed for Jac but now he had something that was the both of them in the form of their daughter. How he wished things were different. Somehow luck seemed to be on his side, having found a babysitter, courtesy of Sacha, Kian was able to work, he needed to provide for his kid anyway so he needed to find a way out of this loving mess that Jac put him in. Sitting in his office was always different without her, the sarcastic and witty remarks over and done with, maybe in time things would change and he would get that once more but now he didn't know, he had no idea when things would be the 'same' again because would they ever be? Kian longed for Jac, everyone knew the rumours that were 'them' now he had their baby. Something they created out of love of a passionate office romance, strictly sex only, barely any feelings apart from the grasp of desperation when those idiotic marriage proposals happened in a bid to hold onto what they had, permanently, he wished it was different, he knew Jac probably did as well. It would still have the lasting thoughts of what they had before though and how he wished it was different.
