The Unfriendly Nature of Ice

It's been around 4 days since the Mastermind's, or Tsumugi's, death. Nothing really eventful has happened. Kiibo abruptly stopped destroying the school and Monokuma, using his AI powers or whatever, simply restored the ruins as if nothing happened. The bear soon disappeared after that.

The remaining survivors, Kiibo, Maki, Shuichi, and Himiko, spent their days utilizing the school's many facilities. They would sometimes talk to each other during mealtimes, but other than that, everyone mostly kept to themselves.

Kiibo would take care of his body and check out his new offensive mechanics.

Maki would always be training herself; despite knowing that it was useless to train her body inside a virtual reality simulation, the girl found it hard to break out of habit.

Himiko would sometimes just stand around, doing nothing. At other times, she would try to be more adventurous, doing things she would normally never do. She even joined Maki for training a few times. Although, she only did a few pushups and situps.

Shuichi would coop himself up in the library and read books, continuously divulging himself in the wondrous world of fiction. After Kaito's death, Shuichi completely gave up their training and only did basic stretches and leg training.

The ghosts would just watch them, like the creeps that they are. Kaito once saw Shuichi naked (well, technically half-naked. He had his boxers on), and the man has been questioning his sexuality ever since. This incident soon led to the question: Who does Kaito like? Maki or Shuichi?

Kokichi was still missing, but as this was a virtual reality everyone assumed he was fine. Spoiler alert: he's not fine.

As Shuichi made it blatantly obvious that he wanted to be left alone, the stalkers took it upon themselves to observe him. They noticed that Shuichi was getting more and more tired, dazing out more and more. They assumed that Shuichi was having nightmares and couldn't sleep well.

But... things only got worse from there.

"I am... rather concerned..." Kirumi said, her voice slow and hesitant.

"What's wrong Kirumi?" Kaede asked, ignoring the screaming Kaito and the howling Miu in the far corner of the library. The ghosts found a pack of "Ghost UNO" in the mastermind room. Surprisingly, they could actually touch it. Fun fact: Kaito does not have a green card ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

"Shuichi... has been looking at the same page... for 3 hours." the anthropologist pointed out. "He has not moved an inch."

That got Kaito's attention and he quickly floated nearer to his detective friend.

"What's wrong with my sidekick?" he asked as he waved his semi-transparent hand in front of Shuichi's face. Obviously, it did nothing.

"I know he's a male and all..." Tenko said. "But is he ok?"

"He's been getting more and more frequently dazed recently..." Rantaro murmured.

"Normally, I would assume that he's thinking dirty thoughts... but Shuichi's not that kind of person..." Miu added.

"Maybe Shuichi has been possessed?" Angie suggested.

Shuichi suddenly blinked and quickly snapped out of his daze. His head whipped left and right n confusion. He then sighed, put a bookmark to mark his page and stood up. He stumbled once, but quickly got back onto his feet and walked out.

The ghosts, after abandoning their little UNO game, quickly followed him. Shuichi was strangely slow as he walked, his steps heavy. He also seemed to be shivering a little, even though the temperature was normal. This confused the ghosts.
