Jenna looked at her phone to see a text from Bella. Finally, she thought. The text read: Hey do you and Josh want to come up to this cabin tonight and tomorrow? Jake said Josh will know what I mean.
She put her phone back on the nightstand and turned back to Josh, who was in a light sleep. The morning light seeped into his skin and made him smile. He looked so pure at that moment. Almost a completely different person from the man she knew last night. Josh shifted a little before his eyes fluttered open.
"Mornin', Mama," he slurred as he stretched like a cat.
"Did you sleep well?" Jenna asked, running her fingers through Josh's loose curls.
"The best I've slept in a long time," he smiled softly. She could see some sort of pain and darkness behind his eyes. Josh Kiszka was a mystery and all Jenna wanted to do was figure him out.
Josh wrapped his arms around Jenna and pulled her into him, their bodies pressed against each other completely. She enveloped herself into his smell of jasmine and petrichor. They stayed that way for a little. "Josh," Jenna said, her voice muffled as she spoke into his chest.
"Yes?" he asked with a crooked smile as he stroked her hair.
"Bella texted me, asking if you and I wanted to come up to this... cabin tonight and stay the night?"
"Oh, that's where he went! I knew it!" Josh said, mainly speaking to himself. "I haven't been there in so long. I'm down to go if you are."
"Sure! I didn't know she and Jake were up there together... What is this cabin you're talking about?"
"Oh it's this place we recorded one of our albums at. We rented it out for a few weeks but when recording was over, Jake decided to just buy it and didn't tell anyone until recently."
"Now I'm intrigued to see what this place looks like." Jenna said excitedly as she rubbed his chest. "I'll tell her that we will meet her there later. Is this evening okay?"
"Perfect," Josh said, sitting up, bringing his body off the bed.
"I'm going to go wash up and get ready," Jenna said, walking off.
Joshua chased her down the hall to the bathroom, he grabbed her hips from behind. She turned around to face him as he grabbed her ever so tightly. He released his grip and gently rested his hand under her chin. He brought her into a kiss. It was soft and sweet. How is this the same man who fucked me senseless last night? Jenna thought to herself.
"What was that for?" She giggled, after they broke from the kiss.
"Do I need a reason to kiss you?"
Jenna shrugged and pulled him back into her. She felt Josh's lips curl as she did so. She hastily deepened the kiss. He tasted like citrus and cinnamon. Josh moaned deeply into her mouth as Jenna pushed herself into him more.
*********
It was late afternoon and Josh and Jenna were on their way to the cabin. Jenna drove down the winding roads with trees towering over either side of them. The forest was bright with reds, yellows, and oranges in the trees and on the ground. They drove fast with the windows down as "Ventura Highway" by America blasted through the stereo.
After a little while longer, they arrived at the cabin. It was an old cozy looking place and there was not another building in sight in any direction. The traditional log cabin was two stories with a stone chimney that ran up the side of the cabin. "This is cute!" Jenna said, looking to Josh, who looked pale and afraid. "What's wrong?" She asked with concern. "Everything alright?"
