"Can we take you out for coffee?" Josh yelled from the doors of the label studio.
Jenna and Bella looked at each other and back at Josh.
"Seriously?" Jenna yelled back, blocking the sun from her eyes.
"Yeah! Our treat, I'll text you the info and meet you there!" Josh yelled.
"Sounds good."
The girls got into Jenna's car and Jenna gave Bella her phone to put the location of the cafe into the GPS.
"Wait Jenna, have you thought about how Nate is gonna take this news?" Bella asked as she was coming down from her high and returning to reality. Jenna was blinded by nerves for a second and then tried her best to focus back on the road.
"Oh shit! I totally didn't even think about that! I already took the job offer. What if he doesn't let me go? Bella-"
"Jenna. It's gonna be okay. I shouldn't have said anything. Let's just enjoy this moment and we can worry about this later okay?" Bella said in a soothing tone, holding Jenna's arm.
"Okay," Jenna sighed. She tried to control her breathing and stop her leg from shaking as she drove to the cafe. "What is the name of the place?"
"Blue Sky Diner."
"What!?" Jenna yelled, looking at Bella as she stopped at a red light. "We can't go there."
"Why not-... Oh. I didn't even realize! Is Nate working now?" Bella asked. Nate was a cook at the restaurant upstairs and sometimes came to help out at the cafe.
"Y-yes," Jenna said. Her leg started to shake again. "B-bella I can't go in there- you don't understand, I told Nate I wouldn't go to see Josh unless he was there with me."
"What!? Why?"
Jenna was silent.
"Jenna? What is going on with you and Nate?"
"Nothing! We are fine!" Jenna snapped at Bella.
"If you two are fine then you are going to go into that cafe with me because this is your life and you are not going to let anyone else control it. If this is what you really want, Jenna, you'll stand up to him." Jenna parked at the side of the curb, nearly hitting the car in front of her. "And we will talk about this after. Jenna, I'm worried about you."
Jenna mentally cursed herself as they got out of the car. She had always kept things about Nate from Bella. She just preferred those relationships to stay separate. But with the overwhelming amount of emotions she was experiencing, it just slipped out.
The girls entered the cafe. Jenna ducked her head, looking around for Josh and Sammy frantically. Once she found them, Josh waved them over and she left Bella and jolted for their table. She sat down across from them, still looking around to make sure Nate wasn't there.
"Are you alright? What are you looking for?" Sammy asked with concern.
"What?" Jenna came out of her mind. "Oh, sorry, it's nothing."
Bella came and sat down next to Jenna, looking at her as if she'd gone completely insane. She did not say anything, however. Not in front of Josh and Sam.
Bella grabbed Jenna's hand under the table, a simple sign to let her know she was safe and she could calm down.
"Well this place is nice," Bella said as she looked around.
"Yeah, it's a place we have always gone to since we moved to Nashville. Have either of you been here before?" Josh asked.
"No," Jenna lied and Bella also shook her head.
